zebrasprinkles 31 Posted August 15, 2012 Hahaha, I thought I was the only one too! So you've had your surgery? HOw did it go??
vinnyfan 23 Posted August 15, 2012 I had a very easy time. I had no pain and no nausea. Extreme tiredness is the only thing I've had with this surgery and I guess that's to be expected. I've taken it very slowly on my progression from liquids to pureed foods to soft foods and it must have paid off because I haven't had any problems so far. Is your surgery scheduled yet? 1 zebrasprinkles reacted to this

mokee 588 Posted August 15, 2012 I'm in the country of Cincinnati. Goshen Ohio. I have about 2 more months if I pass the rest of the hoops and I will be on my way. Maybe we should get a group together. I'm sure there are more in Cinti area around. Let's keep in contact. 1 zebrasprinkles reacted to this
keldolbeth 262 Posted August 15, 2012 I'm just curious to know if there are any Cincinnati Ohio Sleevers? I live in Dayton but went to Dr. Curry. I grew up in Cincy and my family is there so I stayed with them after surgery. My aunt referred us to Dr. Curry and he was the cheapest I looked at since I was self-pay. Have you enjoyed your experience there so far? Btw, you're not the only one... there are a few others here who have had Dr. Curry. You can search by doctor. P.S. I'm 7 weeks out. You can message me if you have any questions! 1 zebrasprinkles reacted to this

keldolbeth 262 Posted August 15, 2012 And Keldolbeth I didn't know you could search by doc - de da dee lol I have really liked him and loved his staff so far! they are all so nice and accommodating. HOw was your experience? and how did your surgery go? is it all as scary as it seems! eek! I can't say I was 100% satisfied with everything but it was pretty minor complaints (mostly at JourneyLite, not Dr. Curry's staff) and overall it was a good experience. I did 4 1/2 months of Adipex and worked with Rebecca because Dr. Curry wanted me to lose weight before surgery. I love that so many of them have had surgery themselves and understand 100% what's going on. They are all so positive and realistic! I think that's a lot of the reason I've been successful, they had more faith in me than I did. The surgery itself wasn't too bad. It was kind of surreal and went so quickly. (From what I've read on here, we have it pretty easy compared to some doctors.) Besides being a little hysterical coming out of anesthesia, I didn't have any problems. Of course there was a little pain immediately after but I was off pain and nausea meds at 3 or 4 days post-op. I didn't get much sleep while in the "hospital" (I don't know what to call JourneyLite lol) but I was home the next morning and slept the rest of the day. The worst thing is just the lack of energy and fatigue, which I'm still battling. One of my biggest pieces of advice is not to push yourself... take it easy, sleep if you need to and don't feel guilty for just resting. 1 zebrasprinkles reacted to this
zebrasprinkles 31 Posted August 15, 2012 Well that's good that there isn't anything to major to worry about with his staff.. but I was wondering what journeylite was maybe he told me and I just forgot or something heh. I haven't heard anything yet about him telling me to lose weight before the surgery, i weigh about 267ish and they told me I'm on the line for the 1 or 2 week pre op diet.. so I gotta push myself a little bit.. I'm already scared about that diet. haha, I'm also scared because i don't like other people taking care of me, and I don't wanna be helpless after the surgery lol also did you lose any hair? I'm not looking forward to that..
keldolbeth 262 Posted August 15, 2012 JourneyLite is the surgery center in the same building as his Evendale office. It's where you have surgery, if you're doing the 23 hour or outpatient stay, across from Fast Track. It's separate from his practice. It's not like an actual hospital. You will see it when you do your consent visit and nutrition class. I haven't noticed any hair loss yet but, from what I've read, that happens around 3 months out and I'm not even 2. 1 zebrasprinkles reacted to this

clk 3,519 Posted August 16, 2012 I don't live here but I'm currently visiting Fairfield, OH. My in-laws are here so we visit several times a year. I researched Dr. Curry, too, (along with Dr. Nick in Plano, TX) but ultimately opted to go with Dr. Aceves. Dr. Curry's staff was very helpful and friendly when I was doing my research, though. We should do a meetup! I never get to talk to sleevers in real life. ~Cheri 3 MIZZDEE, zebrasprinkles and keldolbeth reacted to this
