Did you feel this way before puréed foods. I ask because some puréed foods do that to me. For example I can not eat mashed potatoes.

As for as Calcium, I use the toffee chews and they are a daily treat. You are not

Limited to liquid.< /p>

11 Weeks Post Op:

1. I think I am a slow loser and should have lost more by now. (but I'm still THRILLED with the results thus far)

2. I probably eat WAY TOO MUCH cheese. (it is the easiest and most satisfying as of right now)

3. I work with a personal trainer 3x's a week but the days I don't, I do not work out at all.

4. I have had chicken nuggets from McD's. (out of convienence)

5. I'm frustrated with being a size 18.

6. I don't get all my Water and Protein in.

7. I can't wait until I can see my collarbones. :)

8. I am kind of tired most days.

9. This has been the best thing I've done for myself in ages!!!

10. I can't wait to go on the ultimate shopping spree!!!!

Since you are having trouble getting liquids down, try a suppository instead. Believe me, it works!

Ok I wasn't gonna do it for fear of being judged but WTH here goes...

1) I have had some wine

2) I have had some chocolate.

3) I have started smoking again

4) I would kill for a Big Mac with extra sauce

5) I have had anxiety attacks post surgery.

I know, I know. All I can say is this is so much more than I anticipated. I am adjusting but this is a HUGE change. I didn't underestimate the commitment but I didn't fully realize the entire impact. I know I will succeed but obviously not without testing some limits.

I've had a few M&M's a couple of times.......scared to death to touch wine but think about having some alcohol OFTEN!! Were you able to tolerate it well?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
