CBT 450 Posted August 14, 2012 Did a search and couldn't find the thread from June '12 about post op back pain? It's mid-back. Intermittent. Did you figure out why we sometimes get back pain? Did any one ask their doc about this? I think mine's related to fatigue...I don't have history of back problems. No other pain. Thanks! life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. jhbk2008 5 Posted August 14, 2012 I had back pain severely when I got home from the hospital. Looking back now I'm convinced it was due to being forced to sleep on my back while in the hospital and the first few days home. I'm a side sleeper so I was a mess. I would literally get close to the kitchen counter since its waist high and then lean my elbows for some relief. I also found that sitting in chairs with high backs and sitting completely back helped me out...good luck, hope this helps.. 1 CBT reacted to this
punkaroo26 7 Posted August 14, 2012 It could also be gas. You could jus carry it in your back. I had it and it was far more worse than my abdomen. 1 CBT reacted to this
CBT 450 Posted August 15, 2012 It's my muscles. I wonder if stuff is shifting because the internal structure has changed. I feel it the most when I've been active and tired. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

CBT 450 Posted August 15, 2012 Found the answer: "Pain often is referred from the heart, lungs, gallbladder, liver, kidneys, and gastrointestinal system to the thoracic region since there is overlap of nerve distribution (8, 9)." I'm just healing still :-) life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
