Sorry For Tmi- Ms Kitty Problems

Recommended Posts

Again, sorry if this is TMI, but I am so frustrated. I am currently at my heaviest. I am used to the chafing during the summer (thanks goodness for chub rub gel), but now I have a new issue. I am constantly sweaty down there- all the time! My kitty is sweaty (a bit stinky) and the skin under the belly. It i driving me cray. I have gone so far as to start using anti-antiperspirant/deodorant to try and make it better.

Now, to top it all off, I seem to be sweating so much, I have clogged sweat glands. These are the most painful things I have ever had, and if they don't go away with siitz baths, I am going to have to have them lanced by a doctor. Aside from the pain & embarrassment factor, I am left wondering: What type of doctor would you go to in order to have your vagina lanced- a regular doctor, a dermatologist, or my gynecologist?

Again, sorry about the TMI, but I have no where else to turn. I mean, this isn't something you can bring up around the water-cooler. :)

Call your dermatologist. They will prescribe an antibiotic cream, baby powder or cornstarch, and take care of any wounds that need to be lanced. Make sure you're wearing cotton undies and pants as much as possible so that the air can reach your skin.

Per my doctor, don't use baby powder. It actually can make it worse. There is a certain kind of powder to use but I can't think of the name of it. I'll see if I can find it and will post the name. A dermatologist should know though. Also, you will need a prescription cream as those are usually fungal related. Good luck to you.

I use Gold Bond or Monkey butt powder before the gym daily. My doc did suggest baby powder, but I already had both of the others, so that's what I used. :)

Vagisil makes powder I believe... I would go to my gyno for lancing bc the derm may not want to deal with Kitties. I use summers eve feminine wash down there it is like a shower gel( not a ******)I also make sure it is completely dry after shower.they even make summers eve feminine wipes that you can use when you go to the bathroom instead of TP. My sister uses Baby wipes every time she goes to bathroom 1 or 2 and she sells it keeps everything fresh... Hope this helps

I have also been using summers eve body wash and the summers eve powder. It is formulated especially for women's sensitive areas. It removes the bad bacteria while keeping the good so it is not harsh on your skin. I have not had the same issue with the lower area, but let me tell you....I have suffered for YEARS with yeast infections under my breasts. There were times it would get so painful I could barely put on my bra or move.

Well, literally I tell ya the very first time I used the Summers Eve wash and then put on the powder (it is NOT like baby powder) I have not had a single rash since and thats been about 3 months. I have not gone this long without a rash/yeast infection for probably 20 yrs.

So, it may be worth a try. I found it in the feminine hygine section at Walmart. I hope you find something that works!

Thanks for the suggestions! I am off to the nearest Walgreens to buy me some relief. I was able to get a doctor's appointment- but not for two weeks.

I think the worst part of this ordeal is not be able to see what the issue is. I have to rely on my husband's help. Another thing I can look forward to when I lose the weight- being able to tend & care for the kitty on my own.

I use antiperspirant in a big triangle right at the skin folds on a daily basis. I also wear a pantiliner every day. I get one spot that flares up all the time, but it isn't a clogged sweat gland. It is skin break down from the friction. It feels like a large cyst or pimple. As soon as I feel it starting to get the least little bit tender, I use an antibiotic ointment and cover it with a bandage for a few days. This seems to keep it from getting worse. Once it is flared up, I have also covered them with antibiotic cream and a bandage to help it go down. I've never had to have one lanced. It seems that with all the rubbing, it couldn't heal. The bandage prevents friction, and it heals up in about a week for me.

I'm not sure if by "down there" you're talking about your pannus or vagina, so I'm just going to call them what they are, since I would not say what I'm about to say interchangeably. :) If that makes you uncomfortable please feel free to insert euphamism of choice. Just use the right one for the right body part!

For the pannus - make sure you dry very well after a shower. And use an antibacterial soap while showering. Get as dry as you can, even if you have to use the blow dryer. Apply either a powder, or an antiperspirant/deodorant combo (I use the pomegranate Dove). Not both. I prefer antiperspirant because the powder can sort of paste up. If I ever use powder I use Mexsana, but I've been swiping a line of antiperspirant on my pannus (like chapstick on a smile) for years. You may still get moist, but you shouldn't get wet. You will not stink. And best of all - the deodorant sort of lubricates your skin, so you don't get the skin-skin breakdown/rash.

For your vagina - much the same. But I have a question. You say you're noticing an odor. Can you tell if it's from your exterior/outer skin (e.g. labia, or where your thighs meet your groin), or is it from your interioe (e.g. change in body chemistry and your normal discharge)? You can powder if you want to - I don't, but I don't have the same problems you're talking about. If I did, I would. But I would not use Mexsana. It can burn a bit, especially on sensitive skin areas. Make sure you do not get powder inside of your vagina/vaginal canal. Exterior use only. Use an antibacterial soap (not antibacterial like softsoap, but good antibacterial like safeguard) and use a rough washcloth. Everyone wants poufs and fluffy towels, which is great, but they don't do a thing for helping your body shed the dead skin cells, or scrub off the gunk. I buy the cheapest washcloths I can find at Walmart, the bulk pack of white ones for like $5 or $7. They're just about perfect. Anyway.

Wash well with antibacteria soap, then I'd probably wash a second time with a feminine wash. Dry yourself COMPLETELY - seriously even use a blowdryer if you need to. Or dry off, then wait a bit, then dry off again. Cotton panties as someone else mentioned, as little dye as possible. Sit with your legs open whenever you can. There's a reason we stick our hands between our thighs when we're freezing. It's WARM. But warm + moist is not a good combo, so you want to give yourself as much opportunity to cool down/dry out (from any sweat) as you can. Don't wear snug underwear, either. Go a size bigger if you need to. If the elastic banding can cut into you, that can make things worse. Don't wear undergarments or pants for any longer than necessary. I.e. instead of hanging out clothed at home, but on some loungewear or a mumu or something.

HTH, IME. :)

I am sorry you are having this problem. I had this problem last year and it was horrible. It's probably the biggest nsv that I have had since losing weight. Nobody else noticed it but me and I was taking several showers a day, using summer's eve body wash, sprays, powders, and I wish you the best of luck.

I had this problem for years. the summer eve wipes work GREAT! I also would go with a blow dryer on cool setting. After washing. I also used hydrogen peroxide to clean the whole vaginal area. I religiously use panty liners too. All powders seemed to make it worse for me.When I had a boil I did go to the gyn to have it taken care of. I live in Phx AZ, so overweight and swamp crotch are not a good combo! After loosing the first 30lbs I have no more issue though. I still keep the summers eve for these ridiculously hot days. Monistat also makes a product called cool wipes, which I actually prefer because they also disinfect, but they are hard to find. I wear loose comfy pants and cotton panties for work to help also. Overall I think washing with peroxide and keeping extra dry along with a pantyliner worked best for me.

Thanks again for all tips. I raided the Feminine Hygiene section of Walmart yesterday and picked up the Summers Eve wash, wipes, and powder and some washcloths. Hopefully this will do the trick.

Is chub rub gel the actual brand? What do clogged sweat glands look like? I noticed that on my bikini line there are some white bubbles but I'm not sure if its from shaving or if its clogged sweat glands? They don't hurt they would just itch alot at first.

The chub-rub gel is actually Anti-Chafing cream by Monistat. It is a god-send. As for the blocked sweat glands, they look like raised white bumps, almost like pimples. The stuff in them though, is not clear or liquid-y. It comes out like dry, almost like cheese. They itch a little, but once it gets too irritated, they hurt like a sonofagun too.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
