JDY 1 Posted August 14, 2012 Have been thinking about WLS for almost 2 years. Attended a meeting in May of this year 2012 about WLS at the local Holiday Inn. The people that gave the meeting was from Frye Regional in Hickory NC. I go for pre-op on Aug. 23. My VS will take place on Sept. 4. After reading on this forum It looks as I am older than most at age 62. If there any older people(more mature) on this site I would love to hear from you. Until then time moves on. CoolBreeze 154 Posted August 14, 2012 I too thought about it for more that a year (a little less than 2), partly because I thought it was too late for me at age 51. But doing research and talking to friends and family (certain ones) I found that one of my best friends had bypass surgery in '07 (she was 46) and a couple more had it when they were betwee 57 & 60. So age didn't stop them, don't let it stop you. You may be older but hey you're wiser as well. Wise enough to make the decison to do something to help you see 63, 64, 65.... well you get the idea. If your doctor does not think you're too old then think of it this way - Older-Wiser-Sexier. Congrats on your decison
gmanbat 5,889 Posted August 14, 2012 63 here and kicking up my heels! I sleeved on Jan.14, lost 71 pounds since then, 101 pounds altogether. 63 is the new 40 but I haven't been this svelt since I was in my 20's. Better start planning what to do with all the new energy! I moved to Florida and got a platinum pass for me, wife, daughter, and granddaughters for the theme and Water parks . Yeehaw! 1 CoolBreeze reacted to this
minigoddess 18 Posted August 14, 2012 I am finally getting to the big day and I will be 59 later on this month. If 63 (see Steeve Guru) is the new 40 then I must be heading for the new 30(35?) Good luck. I'll watch for your posts.
