I, use the Unjury vanilla flavored and their unflavored powders. Also, from GNC, I get the Gold Standard 100% whey vanilla ice cream flavored. These are the only ones I've been ok with. Unjury is online and they have sample packs u can purchase of the different flavors and their chicken Soup. Folks have said "Chike" is pretty good and They have samples you can order online. Sam's club has Premier Protein drinks which a number of people seem to like. At GNC, there are the Isopure clear flavored drinks. They're 40g of Protein in a 20oz bottle, but, I didn't like it at all. Try to get some recipes for your own protein smoothies. Get some sugar free syrups for your smoothies and plain greek yougurt. Check out, Torani online, and Wegman's carries sugar free flavored syrups. They're the type they use at the coffee cafe, just ask.

I am doing well. I do not have a surgery date yet' date=' I hoping to schedule with Dr. Caruanna in the middle of October. :) Who is doing your surgery guys?[/quote']

I love Dr. Carauana! He did my surgery and I will say that I had no pain after the surgery and had a very positive experience under his care. I'm still very new to this I was sleeved 3 weeks ago tomorrow. I get to begin the soft food stage tomorrow, so I'm exciting to be able to chew something! Best of luck to you!

@Seelessofme, glad to hear you're doing well. How are the rest of you Buffalo sleevers coming along? I'm having some trouble getting an acceptable amount of Protein in. So much was going on personally. Got scolded at my last visit. But, doing better the past two days!!! Still not back to work, but, that's due to my job duties. Hope everyone is doing well :)

Chilihot,

I had a tough time taking in liquid Protein but seem to do better with Protein thought food. At least that is what my fitness pal app shows. I would like to increase the protein a bit more and think I will do better once I begin the soft foods tomorrow. My fear is that I return tomorrow to work (I teach) and worried about getting my Fluid and Snacks in so I don't feel weak. My schedule has me teaching 4 classes back to back starting from 8-12:30ish. I'm spending today on pre-packing Snacks and meals for my classroom that i can store in my refrigerator including my Water. I hope that will work! We'll see!

@lanuevanicolasa, congrats! Just keep sip, sip, sipping away! Have a sf popsicle to switch things up. The kids would get me a sf slurpee from 7Eleven for a "treat", lol!!!

@SweetQui, glad to hear your doing well:) Keep that loser's wheel spinning!!!

I'm doing well too. Sleeved 8/14 and down 20 about to go onto full foods and just nervous about it. I'm not concerned about Protein as I mostly eat high protein foods but I'm not sure what to have for meals. I think I'm going to slowly transition into reg foods and implement them into my soft foods just to be safe until I can figure out sleeve friendly meals that I like because I'm a picky eater!

@Seelessofme. I've been having mostly fish, tuna, eggs, and surprisingly roast beef hash with scrambled eggs. The first few times I tried chicken my tummy said, "NO". So, I waited a few weeks and yesterday, my tummy said, "Not bad!" I, think I'm being too cautious. I don't like the slight cramping pain I get when something doesn't sit quite right. So, I agree, with taking it slowly and above all, listen to you tummy!!! I'm glad you're doing well!!!

I know what you mean. Yesterday I ate fish and for some reason it was giving me the worst pain. Normally it doesn't but I guess my stomach wasn't in the mood for it I suppose.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
