New1 201 Posted August 13, 2012 Any body can share any dumping experience with me symptoms thank u I think I had my first dumping experience today for me it was awful I actually had several experiences of what I would call dumping. The first time was after drinking my first cup of milk and the second time was recently after eating some extremely spicy chicken. I got flushed, hot/sweaty, and extremely nauseous with cramping and the meals went straight through me and came back out almost undigested. (*tmi). 1 Lauranbob Mc reacted to this
kamrie37 134 Posted August 13, 2012 I didn't know that sleeve patients experienced this.
PdxMan 4,292 Posted August 13, 2012 From what I understand ... they don't. It is a bypass thing with excess sugar. Perhaps you can share what you experienced?
Lauranbob Mc 94 Posted August 13, 2012 had it a few times right after getting sleeved. hot, sweaty, nausea, trouble catching your breathe you feel like you are going to be sick but end up in the bathroom for at least an hour. not a good day when that happens
Neese 75 Posted August 13, 2012 'Those who go through the gastric sleeve surgery are less likely to develop dumping syndrome, also called rapid gastric emptying, due to still having the pyloric valve remaining at the lower end of the stomach, but there is still a significant chance that some painful dumping may occur.'-http://www.livestrong.com/article/75886-negative-side-effects-gastric-sleeve/ It is not as common but it does happen. kamrie37 134 Posted August 13, 2012 I did have a spell where I had diarreah but I didn't consider it dumping. It did come on awful quick though. I hope this doesn't continue with you!

jennyblue111 32 Posted August 14, 2012 I'm 13 days post-op, & I've had 2 experiences: 1 was when I tried my 1st mushy food, instant mashed potatoes. I thought I could do 5oz like my Soups. Wrong! Instant hot flashes & nausea (no vomiting, & lost of belly rubbing & prayer! Dr. T said 5oz of food does not fit in a 3oz tummy. 2) I was drinking WHILE I was supping 5oz of Tomato Soup. It's just habit. I'm learning not to drink 30 min before or after I eat. It was a good lesson. Same symptoms as before + a cold pack on the back of my neck & a very angry sounding insides.
