stedog5743 0 Posted August 13, 2012 I know my insurance will not cover sleeve surgery. (already denied) I am trying to find out self pay cost and locations near me. Or am I going to be traveling. Thanks for any input
barrbdoll 287 Posted August 13, 2012 I am right on the border of PA and MD and I was looking at prices from 15-25k.... CRAZY!!! I went to Mexico and didn't look back... My surgeon, Dr. Ariel Ortiz is one of the best and my experience was nothing short of amazing. I can honestly say I wasn't nervous a single second.... Best decision I ever made and best money ($7000) I ever spent!!!! If you want more info feel free to visit his website... www.obesitycontrolcenter.com Good Luck!!! DDFinn 118 Posted August 15, 2012 Have to agree, self pay in Western PA was going to be 18,000. I went to MX in March and never regretted it for a second. 1 barrbdoll reacted to this
NtvTxn 1,262 Posted February 20, 2013 I was living in Wisconsin but have since moved to Texas - going to Mexico wasn't even a thought for me, but I did have to go elsewhere. I came 'home' to Texas. Surgery for self pay in Dallas was just over 12k and well worth it. Dr. Davidson at Forest Park Medical Center is who I used. Voted 'Top Doc' by his peers (D Magazine) for 19 years. It included follow up visits for the first year. Seminar, blood work the day before. Up to two nights in the hospital. Not to mention, Dallas is wonderful. Northpark Mall is close by, a good place to window shop for all those new smaller sizes AND get your walking in!! You WILL have to have a one week follow up, or at least this was the case back in 2010.
NtvTxn 1,262 Posted February 20, 2013 BTW - self pay in Wisconsin was between 18k and 25k. I've discovered healthcare in the south is less costly and I'm not sure about the rest of the southern states, but it's hard to beat the doctor's and hospitals in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin. SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted February 20, 2013 Add me to the "couldn't afford self pay in PA" list.. Heading to Mexico in three weeks. I looked into some low cost providers in Michigan, Las Vegas, Texas and even some doctor in New Jersey... but the package I'm being offered in Tijuana just seems like the best for me in terms of care and price.
