Delta..Make it Happen 29 Posted August 13, 2012 I will take that 40 pounds...I would be happy if I lost 40 pounds in 3 months
Renea77 84 Posted August 14, 2012 I agree with some of the other comments, what are your stats? What was your starting weight, how tall are you, do you exercise regularly? Allof these things make a difference in keeping your weight loss in perspective, you are doing great and you are losing. That's a positive. What are you eating? Sliding foods like chips, pretzels, popcorn, cheetos fool you because you can eat more of them but they aren't good for your weight loss efforts. Be positive and know that you can do this! Hugs!!! DEZ1975 170 Posted August 14, 2012 I was told to expect an average weight loss of 1-3 lbs a week. Your average is 3+ lbs a week!!! I don't understand the problem? Cheer up...you're beating the average. 1 kamrie37 reacted to this
cherice95403 13 Posted August 16, 2012 On average I lost about 11 pounds a month until I reached my current weight at 11 months. You are doing just fine and I am not sure why you are upset about your weight loss. Some people feel more hurger then others. I was hungry within a week of surgery and it has never changed. I get full very fast, but I feel hungry several times a day.

Well, I guess we can start off with being hungry/starving at 7days post-op. I'm sure you don't want to hear this, but this is your mind playing tricks on you. We call it Head Hunger. The hormone that is produced in your stomach that triggers hunger simply is not there right now. It might return a few months down the road, but not for a while yet. The "bad" thing you did, chewing food to get the flavor then spitting it out. It's pretty common among early sleeves. I would say over 1/2 of us have done it. Just be very careful with this type of habit, I'd hate to see it turn into an eating disorder. Now the good news, you are surrounded with people just like you, chances are there is nothing you will experience or will do, that most of us haven't either done or at least seriously contemplated. We are a bunch of food addicts, and we are taking this journey together. Learning about ourselves, & finding out, we really aren't alone in our trials. And neither are you. Izuri 428 Posted August 17, 2012 I just wanted to chime in and let you know that you're doing fantastic! I know it seems so slow - but 40 pounds is fantastic! I know on normal diets I would struggle to lose 10 pounds a month - I was happy at 5 - You're hitting about 13 per month, and if you did that for a whole year you would be at 156 pounds lost. Even at 10 a month you'd still hit 120 lost. So you're rocking it right now. It's a slow process, but the year is gonna continue whether you lose or not, so at least this way you'll look back and be happy for every pound lost. Every single pound lost is a pound that you do not have stuck to your body anymore. =) Hang in there, you can do it!
timetochange 8 Posted August 17, 2012 OMG don't give up and don't be sad. 40lbs is awesome no matter how long it takes to get there. I know that sometimes I feel like 5lbs doesn't make a dent.....but it does.....so you lose 40lbs now and 40 lbs later? It will come off. Chin up!
