kamrie37 134 Posted August 13, 2012 I think my Hair loss is starting. I have super thin hair already and you can see my scalp.. especially when my hair is wet. I am wondering if any of you out there have/had thin hair prior to surgery and what happened when your hair started falling out. Did it grow back? Did you look bald? I have some Xfusion that I wear and it really, really helps with concealing the thin areas. I hope it will still help when my hair gets thinner.
Foxbins 625 Posted August 13, 2012 I have hypothyroidism and my hair fell out a lot before my hormone dosage was corrected after a couple years ( I had a non-responsive PCP back then). So my hair was really thin. Then I had a VSG and at month three, more hair fell out until month 9. The crown of my head was really thin and my part was pretty wide, but it all starting growing back and now I'm 19 months post-op and it's growing well. It will take a few years to get it as thick as it was before all this, but it doesn't look thin now and there is new hair at the crown. 1 kamrie37 reacted to this
deekaspor 89 Posted August 13, 2012 This is my second biggest fear. My hair is also so thin with a super large part. I was thinking of getting a fun wig. I sure hope it grows back like everyone is stating. Of course my first biggest fear is gaining all my weight back. 1 kamrie37 reacted to this
kamrie37 134 Posted August 13, 2012 I even bought a wig already! lol.. I have to find a salon that will cut it for me, though. I just don't know if I could get used to wearing one. It seems so HOT under that thing. And what if it falls off? I would be mortified.
deekaspor 89 Posted August 13, 2012 I would die if it fell off too. I live in AZ and even winter is hot. So I guess I will hope for my hair to grow back fast:-) 1 kamrie37 reacted to this
Mzluvee 41 Posted August 13, 2012 Great question, thanks for asking it. I have this same fear as I am experiencing thining hair now. I too was thinking of getting a wig now just in case :-(
Shelleypg19 11 Posted August 13, 2012 This is probably my biggest fear that I will go bald on top as its already thin.
Finding MeMe 204 Posted August 13, 2012 Mine was thinning and I wore wigs. I purchased three cute ones and rocked them with head bands and head wraps. Before you knew it my hair was back to normal after 7 months. Take care and good luck to you.
Shelleypg19 11 Posted August 13, 2012 Where did you find cute wigs? Did you use human hair? I know NOTHING about wigs.
Robyn Owens-Miille 132 Posted August 13, 2012 Does Rogaine help it grow back quicker? Mine is already thin and now it's falling out. Yikes!
Finding MeMe 204 Posted August 13, 2012 I just walked into the beauty supply store, they had like one million wigs. I just tried them on and purchased 3. I still wear them to give myself a break from messing with my hair.< /p>
Tia Noel 56 Posted August 13, 2012 I'm worried about this too but I think I have a good solution... TRACKS!! Glue-ins of course. Just glue some in and your hair will look more full. I get tracks all the time!! The trick is hiding the track itself because with thin hair, the weft of the track can be thick and bulging. But to fix that all you have to do is split them right down the middle. BOOM! Thinner tracks easy to hide in thin hair! 1 Finding MeMe reacted to this
