Striong Women And The Topic Of Sex....

Louise C' date='Where you talking to me? I said I agreed with you :)[/quote']

No..she's speaking to me, but completely misunderstood my post if she were to read my reply, she may see there was a misunderstanding and no need to attack me personally. Im probabably one of the most open minded and accepting people out here...I just didn't like the way the reviews have made the submissive woman in the book seem to be a weak individual..as that is not typically the case in real life. It was a book character opinion.

I read al 3 and actually did like the books...Anastasia did get on my nerves from time to time I found myself thinking why doesn't this girl just speak up lol.It wasn't the best thing ever written but I still liked it.The thing about it I liked was Christian's character I wanted to know why he was the way he was and I was drawn to the story because of him.I found a lot of it comical but it also was a bit dramatic it was pretty entertaining overall.

First of all, great replies! It just goes to show that this book and sex in general is a hot topic for all people, women, men, strong (sorry I spelled it wrong in the title....geez!) and those who are not strong in terms of feeling good about themselves. I posted it on my Sunday blog and here for three reasons:

One: to show that I see people write on the forum growing in so many ways, reading about the exciting changes not just to their body but their self confidence; that the weight loss journey impacts our sense of self in so many positive ways.

Two: to show that our sexual preferences have a million different aspects and whatever they are; conventional, different, extreme, making babies or pulling out the whip, as long as they are completely consensual between adults, then go for it! (I especially liked ouroborous' post).

Three: It is just a book, but I have to admit, it has gotten people thinking and talking, and hey, maybe opening up some erotic side that has been dormant in some and for that, OK. It's still poorly written and I wish Anastasia's character was more dynamic and interesting.

Thanks everyone for all the great posts!!!

Just posted my Week 42 of 52 (and have 5 lbs to lose for goal before my year is up). This week I talk about strong women and the newest best seller out there: Fifty Shades of Grey. I'll be interested to hear others thoughts on this popular book.

Sorry, I don't read your blog, but I'm always willing to share my opinion on a book. :)

The books themselves were not good. Poorly written. Didn't make a ton of sense. But considering the author got her start writing Twilight fanfic (equally horrible books IMO), I didn't expect a national book award winning author. I expected a cheap thrill. But I didn't even get that. Maybe the books were so poorly written that it distracted too much from the sex. IDK. But the sex scenes were (IMO) boring. The same thing over and over.

It's SAHM soft core BDSM porn, right? For a bunch of people who dig missionary with the lights out, sure. :)

But I don't think it's unusual for people to experiment sexually. I've talked about these books with many of my female companions and none of us learned anything new. I mean - getting tied up with a necktie? That's not risque, IMO. That's not taboo, or uncharted territory. That's practically Disney. But I know that I'm not your "typical" female, nor are the majority of my female friends. So many women are blushing over this book and going into hormonal fits and IMO it's just silly.

Good for the author for bringing something into the public mainstream. I just got tired of flipping through page after page of the same sex over and over again. Seriously. I'd flip 2 or 3 pages, then read a bit - are we still not there yet Ok...

And I'm sorry, but seriously. What female orgasmed when they lost their virginity? That's how we know it's fiction. :P

..and don't forget the public service.

I'm sure a LOT of husbands out there are VERY glad their wives are reading these books.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
