Hi guys

feeling better, but still not really up to par. I wonder if it is normal to still feel a bit of pain in my chest and back when i swallow liquid? How long does it take to get back to normal after being overfilled. DR. M said my stomach would be swollen, but he didnt say how long. I PRAY I'M NOT SLIPPED:sick

PS priscilla and i are trying cla (tonalin)...anyone else?

Ahhh Neenaugh, I'm sure your okay.

Take your painkillers, and stick to your liquids. Give yourself a few more days. If it makes you feel better call the office and talk to Dr. M. before the weekend.

Hi Maria,

I raised the head of my bed about 3 inches yesterday, and that seemed to help, at least I felt semi human this morning. I hope like heck i'm getting better!

The Doc in Ottawa that did my last fill told me that nitroglycerin can help that pain. He said that if I ever experienced it I should ask my family Doc for a prescription and keep it on me for such times. Anyone else ever hear this? I thought it was kinda weird because it's used for angina, but he said it would relieve chest pain like Neenagh is experiencing.

Okay, am i the only one waiting for the other shoe to drop? I'm down almost 40lbs, but i keep on thinking that i'm not going to get to goal. More importantly, i can't get my head around the notion that this is the last time i will have to lose the weight!?!?:cry It's so weird.

Oh wow, i'm glad you werent in as much distress as i was, cuz if i flet that bad away from home, i don't know how i would handle it!!!

Look at your ticker!!! 176 you lucky girl you!

Boy that guy was brave talking to a strange woman like that. he must have been a confirmed bachelor. it would be hilarious if you went pms all over him! yelling and crying and asking him if u looked fat!hehehe

He was about 70 years old, I took no offence to it. You know those old people don´t know any better !!! Just kiddin'

If he had been a hot young man, well, maybe then!!!

See how desperate I am to weight my self?? Now that the crazy thing!

How is the pain in your chest?? Did you try the nitro?? Did you know you can get all KINDS of things(meds) without a prescription in Mexico!! Now if I was just that kind of addict!

Totally, me too... every week I tell myself it's over. I'm either going to stop losing weight, start gaining, or something. I still can't see myself getting to goal either, so... you're not alone.

Hey guys,I understand where you all are coming from because I look at your tickers and think I can't imagine myself doing as good but I want to try. Who picks the goal weight..you or the Doctor.

Well... I picked mine. I was actually never given a goal weight by my Dr.

Mine is just because it would be exactly half of my start weight. I'm sure everyone's personal goal weight would be different from their Dr's!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
