I haven't had any problems with them. Been drinking spicy hot V8 since full liquids. Also I have cucumber in my shrimp cocktail. & I use a ton of tomatoe based sauces.

One of my faves right now is marinnera meat sauce made w/ Italian seasoned turkey meat.

You should crave them, they're in season right now! And they're great for you. Go easy, at 6 weeks you still need to focus on Protein first. But a couple slices of cucumbers are an excellent snack, full of Vitamins and Water. And tomatoes are just awesome. I think I eat tomatoes with almost every meal, sometimes just a raw slice with a little salt, pepper and fresh basil. YUM!

I'm drinking a Protein shake right now made with 1.5 scoops of Syntrax nectar Lemonade and Water, and I added 1/2 a juiced cucumber, 1 cup spinach, and 1/2 an apple. Green and mean!

Be careful with raw veggies at 6 weeks. I'm almost 8 weeks out and still not allowed raw veggies (and I'd kill for some!!). Check with your nutritionist and/or surgeon before trying them.

Thanks everybody for your comments. Greatly appreciate each one. :)

I was just talking a friend about this and she suggested taking the seeds out (which is what I do with the watermelon & honeydew).

Thanks again :)

I'm about 11 weeks. I've been on full foods since week 4.

Sometimes tomatoes bother my stomach... but most of the time it is fine. I do peel cucumbers before eating them but they are fine.

I am about 11 weeks post op, but I was allowed to introduce these in at 6 weeks. One of my fav go-to Snacks is cut up cucumber, tomatoes, and i'll had shrimp and imitation lobster.. soak it in lemon juice and pepper. I keep it in the fridge so I have it available. It's yummy and has the Protein :)

I am 5 weeks out. Also craving. Just bought cucumbers & tomatoes before checking with my Nutritionist. Even before surgery, I always took off the the outer skin of the cucumber to make cucumber salad. Will check with Nutritionist today. May have to give them away.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
