Never had one before. Sorry if this is TMI but it won't go away. Any advice/recommended products? I heard that if you ice it, it will shrink, but it didn't work for me. It's hard, painful, and really uncomfortable! I need to poop but I'm afraid to! I don't think I'm going to eat anymore until this goes away and I can poop! This is so embarrassing! :(

Preparation H and if it's outside, push it back in. It'll minimize the pain while the medication reduces the swelling.

Wish I had something better, but that pretty much it.

Tried the Preperation H Cooling Gel the past couple days, doesn't seem to help at all. I don't have a Dr (had surgery in MX).

An oz. of prevention- once this feels better-- start throwing a 1/4 cup of Fiber One in your yogurt every day. I can't live without that stuff. It's just enough to....well...... stay happy.

I had a problem a while back because I was so constipated, but I started taking Phillips laxative pills and it helped a lot. Mine are shrunk down to the point where they don't bother me right now. Good luck with yours!

The Prep H Cooling Gel doesn't do anything that I can tell. Years ago my Dr. said that Anusol cream is best for shrinking and I've found that to be true. They were bought out by Tucks now, but it seems to be the same formula in the tube.

I have the same problem! I use preparation H every time i use the bathroom, it helps! Keep using it, and add a little more finer to your diet, makes things a lot "smoother" ;)

I wanted to say "congratulations" by your post :) Hee Hee

They are nasty- I got them after my second child and they are here to stay. Maybe I should ask the surgeon to remove those too!

I've never had one, but I take Probiotics everyday! Once you get these controlled try taking probiotics everyday. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks everyone. I know I haven't been eating much grain/fiber trying to stay away from carbs. I need to probably up my Water intake too. I read to use vitaman E oil, and I also bought some Tucks stuff. Hopefully I will have some relief soon.

Sitz bath, sitz bath, sitz bath. You can buy them at the drugstore for like $15 and they work wonders. Warm-hot Water is best for blood circulation, NO ICE!

I've fought hemorrhoids on and off since surgery. Adding Fiber is good, but I've found is can actually stop me up more sometimes. So I try not to get too much. Probiotics help me the most, a nice Super Bifido Plus with over 100Billion cells. Your doctor can prescribe suppositories that are more powerful than Prep-H. Using those can help, but it takes about two weeks to see relief.

Drink plenty of Water. In a pinch EmergenC packets with 500mg or more of Vitamin C every 6 or so hours will help loosen stool. But I would not recommend unless you are three or more months out.

I got to a point where I wanted the doctor to laser it off, but my gyno did not recommend it. She advised that most of her patients feel worse and it just leaves a weakened area of skin and doesn't rule out them coming back.

It also help if you take a Tucks pad and just leave it between your cheeks for a while. :) I have had them ever since my first child. NOT fun and they come back any time I am on any type of pain meds. Not fun at all like other have said if you do have fiber you need to up your Water intake too or it can increase the problem.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
