September 14Th At Int With Dr. Ponce

Recommended Posts

I am SOOOO excited. Finally picked a doctor and got a date. Started taking Vitamins and calcium citrate and B-12. Almost done detoxing off of my massive Diet Coke addiction and slooooooooooooowly weaning off coffee. LOL Also sent out for a whole bunch of samples of various Protein powders and bariatric supplements so that I'll have some around the house when I get back from Mexico to try. Now it's just a waiting game - 34 days until I get sleeved!!!

Anyone else going to be at INT or at the Lucerna at that time? would LOVE to have a "sleeve buddy"!

Congrats! :) I can only imagine how excited you must be right now! What made you decide to go with Dr. Ponce? I'm still researching doctors. A lot of people go with Dr. Kelly, Almanza or Aceves from what I can see around the forum.

well there was a big mix up about prices and coordinators but I ended up choosing the one that *I* felt most comfortable with after talking to many people on here and another forum. I guess it's a very personal decision.. I needed a surgeon with an outstanding reputation and a decent price that I could afford. I also wanted to be sure that the surgery would be performed in a hospital and I wasn't keen on the idea of staying in a "recovery house". I'm sure they are wonderful too but it's probably the nurse in me that really wanted a hospital. Also I searched and searched all over the internet and couldn't find anything negative about the coordinator I eventually chose (Trish with Wls-for-betterlife). Basically I read that she always books everything just right, gives great attention to detail, and former patients told me she really took time to be sure they were ok and taken care of while in Mexico.

Anyway, like I said I finally realized it's a personal choice and I am pretty sure they are all great surgeons. If you ask around on here it seems most people are partial to their surgeon as I am hoping I will be about mine after I'm done :)

Dr. Ponce was my surgeon and Trish was my coordinator. They are all Awesome! I was nervous at first but they made me feel so comfortable being the fact i am shy and went alone. Trish made sure she called my mother and husband as soon as it was over to let them know what was goin on. As far as the INT it was clean they made sure i had a fresh grown for the front and back before i showered and clean the room atleast 2x a day. Congrats! i'm happy for you.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
