8 Months And Completely Need To Change My Habits!

Recommended Posts

So here i am 8 months later started with some bad habits and then completely fell off the wagon. i am worried that my sleeve is stretched and that i wont lose any more weight. I need to start at the beginning again. so anybody know if i follow the pouch test if that will help me get back to basics like make my sleeve feel like it did in the beginning? I mean i still cant eat alot. unless its liquidy. i sitll can only eat half a weiner or 3/4 or 1 egg things like that but i feel hungry or want to eat every few hours. is this normal or is it all in my head. if i have bread i can only have one slice but still. i do drink carbonated beverages they dont bother me will that stretch my sleeve or is it just over eating. i dont see how a liquid could stretch your sleeve. i can see how over eating. I need help like food councilling no doubt i know i am a food addict but i am aware of it just dont know how to stop i got this sleeve to change my life and it has but i still have failed to give up some habits. i find meat really hard to eat and i am lazy. lol well i just need some re adjusting and some help 12 steps for the foodaholic. lol well thanks for listening. just hoping its not to late and a ruined this wonderful tool. thanks again :)

Try logging your food into My Fitness Pal and watching your carbs - high carbs do make you crave more carbs!! Keep your Protein high and it will help with the food cravings.

It doesn't sound like you stretched your stomach if one piece of bread fills you up, I mean I used to could it 5 pieces of bread and a big ole plate of speghatti! LOL

You don't have to be a fitness fanatic just move - go walking outside :)

You have to think back when you decided to have the sleeve surgery and how dedicated you were to get healthy. And also If you start eating unhealthy and stretch your stomach back out, it will all be wasted time and effort and money. play that ROCKY music in your head and charge forward eating right and doing what your body needs and your family and friends around you. Good Luck, I am almost three weeks out and I see the candy bars my kids get and the tasty food, then I remember THAT food is what got me to being fat and overweight and I absulutely REFUSE to go back to that. Drink your Powerade zero and Water, dry toast and such.

It sounds like you know that you are addicted to food and carbs and understand that you must make better food choices. Now you must have a discussion with yourself and say my sleeve is only a tool and I must make the right food choice or I will gain the weight back. Keep only foods that are healthy in the house I know that I like (chips, Cookies and ice cream) so they don't come into the house. Instead I stock up on healthy foods like (soups, eggs, Beans, veggies, chili, potatoes and cheese). I also exercise daily and If I do overeat I know that I will work it off the next day. It is hard to maintain wt. with calorie restriction alone so maybe crank up the exercise or find a workout program/gym which will work for you.

Things are different for everyone but I don't think there is anything 'healthy' about potaoes!! I know I eat them to often, but a white potato, the healthiest thing about it is the skin! Am I wrong? White carb.....I think of it like eating white bread.< /p>

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
