Hello, I had my gastric sleeve 6 weeks ago in Mexico, it was a wonderful experience and if given the chance I would recommend it to anyone who has tried absoulutley everything with no prevail. This is a tool to teach us how to rethink our choices and retrain our brains on how to eat what to eat. When to eat. And defiantly not to over eat lol. As I mentioned earlier I am 6 weeks in and down 30lbs and stuck not losing and not gaining thAnk GOD. Is there any advice on what more I should be doing to get the ball rolling again? I do mild excercise when I have the energy but for the most part getting it in. Thank you in advance

Kiddo

sounds like you are doing just fine.

do you have a NUT - off Clear liquids, where are you with your meal plan? doctors all give different time periods to eat/drink different stages of food.

being 30 lbs down, post op? thats great

don't worry - all sounds good - keep up following the "rules", weight will go down slowly but surely

good luck

kathy

Thanks. I'm sorry if this may sound ignorant but what is a nut???? :)

I'm still on liquids it. Depends on how sensitive my stomach is but for the most part I eat like a bird, I do my Protein shake three times a day and then I eat either tuna, sardines, mashed cauliflower/broccoli, potato. Shrimp, beef is to heavy for now but veal isn't so much. I juice my fruit with my veggies. It still hurts my stomach on the solid foods but I just take smaller bites and chew longer then it's not so bad. I enjoy an avacodo every now and again one of my most favorite things to eat yum!!!!! I take in my Multivitamin and Biotin for my hair skin and nails and just started to take my potassium pills. I try to drink a minimum of 2 3oz glasses of milk or some kind of dairy, I think that pertty much sums it up. I thank for your help

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
