I Can't Wait To Not Have To...

Recommended Posts

I'm new here, but I can not wait to NOT have to ask my husband to paint my toenails. Or buckle my sandles. Or pass on the cute pair of heels and go for the flats instead. Or...... Struggle to clean properly after a bathroom trip.... Hey. Someone had to go there! Lol!

Wonder if people are wandering how I got my husband.

Have more self confidence to go after what I want

Wear boots for the first time in my life

Walk without sweating to death

I can go on and on

Yes!!! My husband is very cute, and while he totally loves me, I always feel like people look at us and think "she must have a really good personality!!"

Oh and the sweating! My son gets a kick out of that.

... to have a car full of teenagers pull up beside me walking and say "excuse me, where is Dunkin Donuts?" then laugh wildly and drive away.

... to have a stranger casually mention how much I resemble (insert name of an old, unattractive, obese celebrity).

... to use any public restroom stall, NOT just the wheelchair one.

... do a double take when I see my own photo, reflection, or image in a security TV monitor because I can't believe my own eyes that it's ME who is that big.

Just remembered one: I can't wait to not have my arse cheek pinched/caught as I sit on a toilet with a loose seat that shifts off in one direction while I overcompensate in the other direction. Ouchie.

I haven't been to Six Flags in 15 yrs and it was snug back then. I can't wait to be able to take my son.

I can't wait to not wear something under my dress or skirt to keep my inner thighs from getting the dreaded "chub rub" redness and pain

I know this sounds weird, but have you tried using antiperspirant on your inner thighs? Works wonders for me - even during 100* summer days.

Yes! The only thing that ever worked for me was a pair of bike pants or short tight work out pants under my dress or working skirt. Baby power, antiperspirant, anti-chafing creams- nothing else worked.

Also, if up under the "girls" tends to break out or be all sweaty anti perspirant works great there too ! And not having to wear a slip under a sundress in 110 degree heat because of feeling the terror that someone might be able to see through my skirt it if I stand in the bright light !

I can't wait to not feel like I've had a 2 hour workout just taking a shower.... it's hard to wash all those fat rolls !! To not be embarrassed for my hubby to see me naked... to be able to enjoy sex without fear of how I look , to not be the blunt of everyone's jokes when I walk by , to be able to sit in the seats at concerts/sports venues..... to be able to play with my grandchild after it's born....Most importantly I can't wait for the real me that has been trapped , held prisoner for so many years to finally come out and live instead of just existing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
