Looking For A Buddy With Similiar Stats

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody, I start my pre-op liquid diet this Tuesday 8/14 to be sleeved Tuesday 8/28. I'm looking for a buddy with similiar stats, and who has been or will be sleeved this month (August).

I'm 5'7", and I weigh 282. My surgeon's goal weight for me is 160, so I have 122 pounds to lose. Anybody out there similiar? Thanks

Hi,

I have number almost the same like yours. 5'7" started at 277lbs ( but I lost some). My surgery is 9/21. My goal is 160 but I will talk to surgeon in 2 weeks to find out his goal.

Great! I'm going to be looking for you guys online. I know we're not supposed to compare our weight loss to others, but I just like knowing who is in the same boat as me, in case I fall out and need a life saver, lol.

It is really helpful to talk to each other and know that something new what we feel is not actually that scared and someone else has this symptoms as well :) it make us more calm.

We are the same weight, but i am only 5'2. I am going to be sleeved mid September. I should have my exact date soon. It's hard not to compare other's with similar stats. It gives me hope when someone is similar to see their progress. Can't wait to get to know you better on our journeys!

I'm 5'6" and 255. I am supposed to also lose 122lbs. For some reason, I don't start the liquid diet until two days before surgery, which should be 8/21. I'm super excited to be able to shop in regular stores with my friends. I'm super freaked about saggy skin.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
