Carrie's Journey 130 Posted August 11, 2012 I'm 31 (almost 32) and was sleeved 7/31/12 by Dr. Cirangle in San Francisco. Anyone out there who was sleeved at a similar time so we can go through the stages together, sort of? I was a lower BMI: 32 so weight loss is slower for me but the experience should be similar. I'm at Day 10 and have lost 11 lbs. Anyone interested in keeping in touch like pen pals?
Aloadoff 0 Posted August 11, 2012 I wanted to get my sleeve done in the states.... do you mind telling me what you paid. I still have time to change my Dr., since Im not scheduled until Aug. 30.
Carrie's Journey 130 Posted August 11, 2012 Thanks! Sure! One of the pioneers: Dr Cirangle in San Francisco. It was 17,500 which is one the high side but I'm glad I went with him still. He includes 2 years of follow up visits but usually more like 5. And he leads the support groups that I'm planning to attend.

tifgrin 6 Posted August 12, 2012 Oh I'm sick of Protein Shakes too! I'm ready to eat! I still have another week on this liquid diet. I have been having issues with my stomach hurting most of the time and my pcp said its just where he cut through my stomach muscles. I'm ready to feel good again! That totally sucks you still feel pain. I was so glad to stop taking the liquid Vicodin. Yuck! It sounds like so many doctors have different rules on when to eat. I can't go crazy but I got cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, refried Beans, creamy Soups, eggs, and I'm waiting to hear back from the Nut to see if there's anything else...I assume it's anything soft/mushy but I'm going to stick with mostly Protein.< /p>
tifgrin 6 Posted August 12, 2012 No mine wasn't open. Did you have your gallbladder out the same time? My doctor said that's part of my pain too. I'm so ready to get to week 3 and start my mushies....I'm jealous

I'm so ready to get to week 3 and start my mushies....I'm jealous <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Ohhh it must be the gallbladder. I heard that's a lot more painful. I still have mine but I had a small hiatal hernia repaired...didn't know I had one. You'll feel better soon. How many lbs do you want to lose? I've been in the low 200s for years but went into surgery at 188 (I'm 5'5"). My dr said I should be able to get to 120 but I can't even imagine that. I think that's way too thin. Maybe 130-140 and that's even hard to imagine. Isn't this exciting?? Well, if it's not yet its because you're still in pain. It'll pass. Please keep in touch! I'm not sure how to add friends on my phone...are you on obesityhelp.com too? It's nice to talk to someone with a similar low Bmi (I haven't found many) and surgery date! tifgrin 6 Posted August 12, 2012 Thats funny....I was 188 when I went into surgery too! We have a lot in common! This journey is exciting! I know us starting out with a low BMI won't lose as fast but I think we are both doing great!
tifgrin 6 Posted August 12, 2012 No I'm not on obesityhelp.com. I will look into that!
