A Weird Hair Question

Recommended Posts

So the hair on my head is falling out..which can be a normal process...but as I was getting out of the shower the other day..it appeared I had more hair down "there". Anybody else experience this? I am wondering if it is because since I am shrinking it just appears more hair is there because the follicles are closer together because of the shrinkage..I know ..weird question but just wondering if anybody else has noticed. I'll try to limit my weirdness to one question per day!

I never noticed, but then again, I believe in cranking up the weed wacker on a regular basis. ;)

I think it is that the hair is just closer together so it looks like more. I am having the same experience. I saw a thread on here where a guy was saying it seemed like he had more chest hair for the same reason so I think it is common.

Also on another (hilarious) thread they were talking about guys being "larger" after weight loss I think its a visual effect thing. lol

not sure... I wax but the waxing isn't any more painful so I don't think there's more... =)

Another thing to consider is hormonal differences, when you reduce your mass you effectively INCREASE the amount of hormones in your system - same amount of hormones spread out over less mass + MORE hormones. BOTH sexes produce some estrogen and testosterone and may cause more hair to grow.

Oh no, it isn't just a visual thing. Ask my wife ... and Dr. Oz

Lol... You guys are to funny. One question are you taking Biotin? Because I've heard people say that makes them grow hair every where but their head.

Yes I am taking 7500mcg of Biotin 5 days a week. My hair on my head has thinned out..but not anywhere else.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
