Are noodles considered a 'soft' food; as in chicken noodle Soup, etc.?

In general, no, it's not on the approved list of soft foods. But some docs vary on this, so I would check with yours. Noodles are carbs and not on most post-op diets, as trying to keep under 30-40g daily for the first month. However, I had strained chicken noodle Soup in my soft phase and I think a *few* noodle parts made it through and it didn't hurt it any way. I would say if you're getting more chicken than noodles, you're doing OK. Sometimes if you puree the soup with a hand immersion blender helps so you don't have to chew like crazy.

Pasta, bread and rice are on my list of "don't eat them" foods. You might want to check with your nutritionist before eating noodles. Best of luck!

I would say yes they are a "soft" food but do you want to go there.. probably not- If that is the only option- just eat/drink the broth- I agree if 1 or 2 or a few slip by your not gunna die but I would avoid the carbs.

Oh yea..CARBS! Apparently, that term was stuck in my mental black box. Thanks y'all. I didn't do noodles, but if we're on that 'carbs' thing, I guess my Loaded Baked Potato Soup is a bad choice. Big oops. I was trying to cone up w/some new soup choices besides creamy chicken & creamy potato. :(

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
