pebbles99 10 Posted August 9, 2012 I had my surgery on Monday. It is now Thursday and my stomach grumbles, I feel like I will throw up, but don't and I am very tired. Doctor's office says this is normal. When will I feel better?
SunnyCox 245 Posted August 9, 2012 Are you still on Clear Liquids? I got a real bump in energy when I started drinking shakes.< /p> 1 pebbles99 reacted to this
AliveAgain 283 Posted August 9, 2012 Give it a week, you'll feel about 30% better. At the end of two weeks, you'll be another 30%. That last bit will take the next 2-4 weeks. What you're feeling is normal. Keep sipping fluids, walk when you can, sleep when you need it, and you'll get there. I agree with SunnyCox, Protein Shakes may feel like a struggle to get down right now, but they will give you more energy, help you heal faster, and get you over this hump sooner. Good luck! 1 pebbles99 reacted to this

pebbles99 10 Posted August 10, 2012 Thanks everyone. My doctor never said anything about Protein Drinks for the first 2 weeks, only clear fluids. I will have to double check.
MamaJaa 1 Posted August 10, 2012 Yes, get as much rest as your body asks for. Just because the Drs and insurance companies rush you out of the hospital does not mean you should be back to being superwoman the next day. I'm 6 weeks post op and some days are still hard, some days I don't want to eat, I'm lazy to deal with the pain. The tiredness will go away in a few weeks. Protein and Vitamins will help. Just take it easy
