I'd say go with unflavored! I've wasted so much money on all these stupid flavors and couldn't stomach any of them. I brought Unjury but am afraid to try it as I have been severely disappointed with all of the other brands I have. I'm thinking I am no longer going to try and make my shakes. I am planning on buy the pre-made shakes by EAS. Those seem to be the only Protein Shakes I can stomach that don't smell or look like s*it! Excuse my french. lol. I just can't with this Protein requirement. SOOOOO over it! Ugh.

I like the chicken broth flavor, mixed in low fat canned chicken broth. Just be sure your liquid isn't hotter than 130 degrees F!! I also use the unflavored powder, mixed in broths, oatmeal (only did that once...too many carbs for me), etc.

Vikkic, Hi! I use the Unjury, and I really like it! I buy a canister(I think its 21.95) vanilla and I use a variety of things to mix with it. (i always use skim milk) 1 tsp Peanut Butter and 1/4 of mashed bananna.....ummm, I also, delute about 1tsp instant coffee in warm Water then add that for coffee flavor and my favor is adding a tsp of sugar-free instant pudding. I have a single sized blender I use and it mixes it up really great and make sure after its done mixing, add ice cubes to your glass, it makes it a little thicker! Hope this helps you, PS-unflavored is great too with the above concoctions too...I just tend to like the vanilla flavor with them all...

What are EAS? and where do you get them? I do like the slimfast Choc low carb but they are $9 for 4 and I need 3 a day to meet my protein plus an aftertaste..need some variety too...I orderd the sample pack of the Unjury, and will try that.

EAS is a brand of Protein Powder. It comes in the powder form and pre-made shakes. I like the strawberry and vanilla flavors. They have a brand called myoplex lite -carb control. Ready to drink shakes. 20g of Protein per bottle. I enjoy that brand the most. I buy them from target. But you can get them online as well.

Have you tried the ready to drink Muscle Milk products? I love the "lite" (sugar-free) chocolate flavor...drink 2 every day, for a total of 60 g of Protein. I've tried the vanilla, but I'm not a big fan of anything vanilla. The banana creme is too sweet for me, but tastes like southern 'nana pudding'. ;) A lot of people drink Isopure, but I, personally, find the ready to drink bottles disgustingly sweet. If you can stand the taste, it packs a whollop of protein. Best of luck!

I have tried muscle milk and I felt like it had way too many calories. Does it come in a "diet" or "light" version... Something that reduces the amount of calories...?

As far as Unjury goes, I really like the chicken broth, and the chocolate splendor. But I would recomend getting the sample pack and try them yourself before ordering any real quantity.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
