PdxMan 4,292 Posted August 9, 2012 3 days post op ... totally normal. You just had major surgery. Just take it easy and try to get as much liquid as you can. Get up and go for a walk outside at least 3 times today. Just do what you can. Sip, walk, sleep. Sip, walk, sleep. 1 Avillias reacted to this
TinaMari 75 Posted August 9, 2012 Normal! I started walking day 3. Just walk for like 15 minutes or so. Nothing big. Don't get yourself all worked up. Your going to sleep allllllll day! Enjoy it. If you find yourself still tired after a week or so I would say talk to your dr. You may want to try B12. Good Luck!
mjs6206 7 Posted August 9, 2012 I had surgery Monday, I'm not getting in a lot of liquids and i sleep a lot, i feel very fatigued and everyone i have ask says this is normal.....hang in there....we will feel better soon!
CAsleeve 56 Posted August 9, 2012 Yep, that is not surprising. You just had major surgery. They had me up and walking the next day, but that is Stanford's policy and you need to force yourself to move around. My awesome, and very proactive nurse, didn't take no for an answer. You want to get your system circulating and avoid blood clots. So...., stir up some gumption and get moving. Not easy, but it is better for you in the long run. Get as much liquids in as you can...is little sips of course. Try warm and/or cold, whatever works the best for you.

maryjane61 2 Posted August 15, 2012 I still have gas just not as bad this morning' date=' thanks for the encouraging words. But I am so hungry now, I think.[/quote'] KayKay, I, too, was so hungry! I was cognizant of thinking about food constantly! I was worried that this extreme measure I had taken was not going to work for me! I kept thinking how embarrassing it would be to have spent all that money and I remain the same! Luckily, I have evolved to a place that is not thinking about food much at all! I am satisfied (mentally) when I am full. I feel that wonderful hope again that it will all turn out alright. It will for you, too! Count on it! 1 ~LeSa80~ reacted to this
KayKay20 13 Posted August 16, 2012 maryjane61 I know that's what I keep saying, I hope my husband didn't waste his money, I don't want to let him or myself down. I just want to stop thinking about food so much. I know I am just 9 days out, but will those thoughts ever go anyway?

I slept all night. Still using C pap machine. Doctor said for at least three mouths more. Didn't use it in the hospital. I know the filling about wanting to just sleep. We will get there soon. Good luck.
