I've lost 16 lbs in one month, pre and post op. I'm at 2 weeks post op today. Anyone have similar results? A lot of folks have such higher numbers. Anyone like me?

Me. I was about the same at two weeks post op. I hit 25 lbs lost, and I've stalled for 2 weeks. It is frusterating, but hopefully will pass soon.

Me too! I've been in a stall that's lasted a little over a week now :/ don't get discouraged! It's all part of the individual process :)

My weight loss is very slow too. I have lost 21lbs in 7 weeks including my pre op diet and am kind of losing interest with it all. I was weighing myself every day but haven't done so for about 4 days now. Everyone else seems to be doing so well, I don't like being the slow one :-(

My loss has come in fits and starts. I'll sit on the same number for several days, then drop 2 pounds a day or 4 or 5 days in a row. I think that quick loss throws my body for a loop, and the "stalls" are its way of catching up to its new self. I work hard not to get discouraged, but I sure do feel better on the 2-pound-down days!! ;)

taylor - it just takes time, you'll do it. i thought i would have lost more than i have but when i look at where i was just 2 mos. ago, i'm happy -- i've lost 37lbs since havin surgery june 26. i've tried to lose that the last 2yrs. and to no avail. so be patient, do what your drs say and the weight will come off. :)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
