Has Anyone Noticed A Change In Their Sleep Patterns?

Recommended Posts

For me, the last few nights have been harder to fall asleep than before. That could be due to all the sleep I got a week ago at the hospital. I do notice that when I wake up I feel a little more refreshed, and the "brain fog" isn't as bad as it was pre-surgery. I seem to be more "alert" and yawn less during the day.

Have y'all noticed similar things?

Yes i went through the same thing! Im now a year out just this August! Haha my names Elly and its a pleasure to meet you! I experienced the same thing after my surgery, you have to realize its partly your mind saying " I did it! this is the start to my new life a new me! " and your body burning more fat because youre consuming less. It leaves you with more energy as long as you're eating your Protein Shakes the second you start to eat bad theres a crash and you get exhausted. Id recommend you get more exercise during the day. You'll realize that the more you burn in a day the easier it is to fall asleep. If you have any other questions or concerns drop me a line! and please check out my group Foodfacts!

I actually used to wake up a jillion times a night. After surgery, I started sleeping like a LOG!! I don't even get up to go to the bathroom anymore!

I sleep really well, but sometimes it does take me a bit to get to sleep. I now go to bed later than I used to. Once I started exercising, the extra energy really kicked in and I don't seem to need as much sleep as before.

i dont know if it had anything to do with it, i have/had sleep apnea and after surgery i still fall asleep

rather quickly but i don't have nite sweats like i use to. nor do i get every darn hour to go pee.

i can't sleep on my left side (favorite one too). i wake-up feeling more relaxed and alert than i ever did

pre surgery.

My sleep went from bad to worse, I cannot remember the last time I slept through the night. I typically get up 2 or 3 times a night, wake more often than that and notice the clock a lot too. It's frustrating.

I've noticed that I need less sleep, but I get tired sooner than before. I'm looking for be now at 9:30 instead of 10:30. But, I also wake up on the dot at 6:00 am everyday and I'm full of energy and not achey like I used to be. I also don't wake up in the middle of the night anymore to pee. Its great really. The only disadvantage, is sometime my boyfriend isn't home from work till 9 or 9:30 so going to bed that early means I don't see him much those days.

I am 10 days post-op and have not slept through the night yet. I wake up and can't get back to sleep. I may be awake for up to 2 hours. I hope this changes before I go back to work!

I used to fall asleep in minutes, now it takes much longer. I had never had any sleep problems prior to surgery. Benadryl helps but makes me foggy the next morning. I am kinda bummed about it, but I'm hoping after I get back to work and everything that I'll start sleeping better again.

I'm three months post op- and I am WAY tired at night and fall asleep almost instantly- after I recovered and started working out even more so. (I walk morning and night)

I sleep so well now- and I never have to get up and use the bathroom anymore during the night! I love that. I don't eat sugar at all and no/super low carbs- and I think that helps me also.

I thought I'd need sleeping pills, but never have. I'm thankful for that.

:)

Before surgery I never slept at night & I was had a prescription for sleeping pills & still couldn't sleep. Now I'm 12 days out every night around 10:30 I get real sleepy. I may fall asleep about 11/ 11:30 & wake up between 6:30 & 8:30 depending on if one of my kids wake me up first.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
