What's so hard?

Are your doing this for you or your friends? If you're doing this for you' date=' then it doesn't really matter what everyone else thinks, huh?

You are right to some extent. I am doing this for myself. They don't know the struggle I go through every day with my weight (I.e feeling terrible health wise, back pain, no clothes that fit, depression, self consious etc). But I would like to feel supported during my journey because I know it is not an easy fix and will be hard physically and mentally. It just makes me second guess myself. I know the sleeve is right for me. I guess what is really holding me back from booking the op is fear.

The one thing I will say is for you to trust in yourself. I believe the sleeve (as well as all WLS), are just as much mind exercises as physical ones. This is your chance to show your friends that you don't need them to tell you everything is okay. This is your chance to get to a place of self-reliance and self-sufficiency.

As someone who is 3 days post-sleeved, it's VERY hard, but not insurmountable.

I donโ€™t do Facebook so no itโ€™s not on there but everyone knows from family friends boss to my hairdresser lol

I just come back from the hair dressers as it goes and spent the hour talking about it I was 91lbs heavier last time they see me and nice for me he said my hair is in much better condition lol

Due to my ibs before surgery I was losing a lot of hair because I couldnโ€™t absorb Vitamins the sleeve has cut me back on what I take and as a result my hair isnโ€™t falling out in clumps! (not yet anyway lol)

Itโ€™s a bit hard to hide you losing weight when you start at over 400lbs and you have been big your whole life.

Also not one to hide it its a lot easier people not trying to cook for you or give you food and drink when you visit them they know I take my own stuff and everyone is pretty interested in the process and how I am coping etc they love the little details!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
