yeah, you have to take account for what you've eaten and drank since you weighed this morning, normal Fluid balance, respiration, etc...

I have OCD so I would weigh every 10 minutes if I let myself! And I've seen huge fluctuations within hours when I've done that. I now weigh in the morning only. I've done a lot less freaking out since I started that. :-)

Also, it could be the scale. At one point I had one that would give me 3-4 lb differences. Needless to say I got rid of that one. My new one is very accurate. Usually within 1/2 lb of the expensives one at my doctor or gym. Also I measure with the scale in the same place everytime, that does help.

Not really when you realize it's not 4 pounds of fat but Water, food, gasses, etc...

I look at it like this: I'm not trying to lose weight. I'm trying to lose fat. So the scale, while a tool that can measure fat, measures everything else as well and cannot give me a 100% accurate story of my overall body composition.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
