CassieWNY 100 Posted September 14, 2013 Amber09 - Hang in there! For me the first 4 days were bad and then it really started to improve remarkably every single day thereafter. We are all different but 99.9% of us get better quick. You will be in that demographic I am certain. Immediately after surgery, my strategy for success was to follow what the surgeon told me and to avoid people online or elsewhere that were constantly moaning about the food they could no longer eat. The "I MISS PIZZA" people. Just was a negative scene. Surround yourself with positive people - like these Buffalo survivors - and I think you will do fantastic. If you have healthcare questions, never hesitate to call your surgeon's office. It is really the best approach during these next few critical weeks. Juliansmommy is right on when she says get some rest. This is the time to focus on YOU. Don't lose sight of that... 1 Marerz reacted to this

JIllette 57 Posted September 14, 2013 Okay for all of us in Buffalo Sam's club and BJ's sells Premier Protein ready made resealable bottles. Each bottle is 11 oz and 30 grams of Protein. Sam's has chocolate and vanilla both good and BJ's had just the chocolate. Quick and easy protein. 1 Marerz reacted to this

AmBeR09 60 Posted September 15, 2013 Amber09... How r u doing and feeling? Better by the day!! Still discomfort which I expected but really I think it's trying to figure out these gurgles. The gas seems to have mostly subsided and I'm guessing the leftover pain is from surgery. If only I can sleep throughout the night!!
dawners73 19 Posted September 16, 2013 Congrats to you!! I was lucky not to have much gas pain, just in my left shoulder. The nurses at sisters are so nice. I had young male nurses at times lol. It'll continue to get better every day. By the end of the week it felt like I never had any surgery. The gurgles won't stop they haven't for me. Its a sign that your tummy is full. I also get what I call inny burps lol. I'm glad you're doing ok

I seem to only tolerate the carnation with added protein. But there are a lot of carbs in it. I was so sick of cinnamon bun that I threw the last couple scoops out with the trash I couldn't even smell it anymore! Lol! Amber glad you are doing well! The first week sucks but you will start to feel better everyday. Take it easy and don't overdue it!

I work downtown where its always colder how am I to survive the winter? I am 2 months out. I work downtown too and have been freezing the whole summer pretty much. Someone mentioned to me that your internal temperature can get screwed up with a large amount of weight loss in a short amount of time. I like that theory. It doesn't help that some ppl in my office like to keep it freezing, I think the A/C is on right now... Dress in layers!!
