Twenty two days!!!!! Who else is having difficulty controling your appetite? I've misbehaved a lot this past week. My nutritionist said it's fairly common to gain weight just before surgery. GRRRR! I don't like it.

This morning I decided to try just Protein Shakes and Vitamin Water to see if I can reign in this wild appetite.

I hope the rest of you are doing well.

Welcome, Guy. This is the best place to find support. Another great place is your surgeon's weight losss support group. I never miss a meeting. Every time I go, I learn so much and I've met such wonderful people. It could be just the thing you need right now,

As for your partner leaving, I want to say congratulations. I know that sounds weird but here's my thinking. You decided to have this surgery, which is a big deal mentally, physically and emotionally. If your partner decides to leave just when you are embarking on this life altering journey, that person wasn"t there for you and would have just been in the way, emotionally. You need to surround yourself with people who really care about you. We all deserve to be loved and appreciated. Do not let any negativity fill your heart/soul. I'm guessing that for many of us, that's part of how we got here in the first place. At my last support meeting a psychologist spoke. He said that a typical WLS patient is one who takes care of others first and we need to take care of ourselves first. My new mantra, "take care of me first". Not that easy, but it's time.

Well said fun size. I agree wholeheartedly. We are typically codependent people. Which giving to others is not a bad thing, but it is not healthy when we do it to the point where we become a detriment to ourselves...be it emotionally, physically and/or psychologically. Just take this one day at a time and those that really matter will be there to weather whatever storm comes our way. Hugs to everyone.

You know, I keep reading about stalls. Especially on the contest threads. I have an idea. So that we November Sleevers stay absolutely motivated no matter what the dang scale says...lets have our contests be two parts. Yes the scale matters as it does pertain to our goals of healthy weights, BMI's an such, but it is not the only way to measure success. We will have times of no weight loss but still our bodies will change. So that being said I propose we have goals for pounds lost/final weights AND for inches lost. That second one will be hard to gauge. But it would still an important motivator for us.

Lets do keep in touch ! Hey' date=' do you have a web site for your store? What is your favorite type of quilting/ Mine is appliqué . I work so dont get much time to quilt...owning a quilting shop wold be awesome. I suppose you could justify sewing at work LOL![/quote']

Our website is www.circlesewing.com. My favorite type of quilting is scrappy! I just love mixing all the colors. I give the majority of my quilts to the homeless and to women's shelters. I love the look of appliqué quilts, and some of my customers are experts at it....but I don't go there too often. I thought I'd have time to sew at work, not so much! LOL. My customers keep me hopping, and uncle sam's paperwork takes up the rest of my time (heavy sigh). I do sneak in a little sewing though...he he he

I like the idea of including inches lost. How does the contest work. My day is 11-28, so I'll be a late starter. However, I am very excited.

When you get your surgery....set a goal. The first contest will be tough just cuz you really don't know how your body will react to the surgery...but it's good cuz we can all stick together. Some will lose fast, some slow. But the point is we're all gonna lose. I say wait til surgery since that is when you get your official day of surgery weight. And like I said...we motivate each other. And regardless of the beginning of the month or end...we are all November losers. And it gives us a month or so to New Years.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
