It is an interesting experience! I slept like a baby and yes, the beds are super comfortable at most of those facilities. It is weird b/c the rooms are wired with infared and night vision cameras so they can watch you while you sleep. So freaky!

My expirience was ok. But i couldnt sleep in a bed that wasnt my own. I felt wierd with all does wires and devices. They told me i slept only 45 min but it felt like five. They were able to see i had sleep apnea, but i still dont understand how since i didnt sleep almost nothin. I dont really go into deep sleep because i usually feel like ive stop breating or sometimes my snoring wakes me up. It kill me cause im always tierd and i wake up with a a sore throut. But no i didnt like it at all

Also has to do with the sensor they put in your mouth. At least for me it was very uncomfortable. I slept a total of 2hrs but it felt like 30min. Appharently the average person stops breathing 7 times. Some doctors will try to pass that as sleep apnea. Or maybe I was just rambling lol

My first sleep study wasn't bad. But I also made sure I was exhausted the day of it so I fell asleep fast. I deliberately got like no sleep before so I could sleep lol. Part 2 however with the CPAP was HELL. I have the CPAP now at home and it's not as bad, the face mask they gave me made so so claustrophobic. And my sleep tech was a rude jerk- truly awful night. I hope your experience is better!! Good luck!

Everything seemed to go ok but I got like no sleep at all... I came right home and went back to bed for a few hours! They didn't say they had to reschedule me or anything so hopefully they got the info that they needed. This was my first sleep study and I an sincerely hoping that I don't have sleep apnea! I won't find anything out for 10 days when I have my follow up appt... I hate all this waiting, makes me crazy!

Fortunately I do not have sleep apnea!! I am very grateful I don't have to deal with the cpap machine! Good luck everyone!

Just an update!! I just got back from my follow up and I do not have sleep apnea!!!!! I am so thankful for that!! And shocked that I actually slept a little over 6 hours I did not think I even got close to that! I do have periodic leg movements that wake me up quite a bit but she said that is common for someone who has had knee surgery as I have. She said once I reach my goal weight if it is still happening they ban give me meds to help! I also am not spending much time in REM sleep so that us why I am so tired, but I am just do happy that I don't have apnea! I think I did a little happy dance!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
