smartypants 14 Posted August 4, 2012 Hi Everyone. I was freaking out a week ago and got some really nice messages from folks reassuring me. The surgery went well. I was only in a lot of pain the night of the surgery but I still got up and walked the halls in the hospital. I'm following a liquid diet but have to admit I'm craving something to chew on. Has anyone "cheated" by eating something they weren't supposed to? I have to be on liquids another week and I don't know if I can go that long without having at least a piece of toast. KS Fort Worth 86 Posted August 4, 2012 Also wishing for a piece of toast, but honestly, getting food particles stuck in the staple line would so NOT be worth it. It's only a short time, and you have the rest of your like to enjoy eating responsibly. Give your body the time it needs to heal without shooting yourself in the foot. I for one will NOT be cheating on my doctor's plan. Just because somebody else may have cheated in the past with no complications is no guarantee that you or I will fare similarly. 3 LeaveItToSleever, Mollyb and Slenderella reacted to this

smartypants 14 Posted August 4, 2012 Nah, I wasn't going to "cheat" by eating toast. I was just wondering if anyone else was tempted. In a way, I'm glad that I have the craving for something to eat. That means that everything is healing as it should. I'm a good patient. I'll follow what the doc tells me to do. 1 KS Fort Worth reacted to this
JenC 90 Posted August 4, 2012 Suger Free Popsicles where allowed by my doc on clears and full liquid stage, they took care of my need to chew/have something other than liquid in my mouth. Maybe you could try those! BTW you can do this!!!
