Recommended Posts

Just drank 3 oz of my Protein Shake and burp so much! This won't work in public. How long does this last?

hi, I am only 4 weeks out so I don't know much but I do know that when I stopped mixxing my Protein and skim milk in the blender and then stopped drinking out of a straw it helped ALOT. I think it is because of the extra air. Hope it helps. :)

Never?

lol

for me the warmer the drink the more I burp, but then again my family are kinda burpy people anyway so I dunno if its just me or not.

I think its very common for all of us to be a bit burpy for a few months it maybe a tiny little stomach but it seems to get a lot of air in it.

Not really an answer but I too burp when I drink not when I eat but yes when I drink I burp.

my dr. told me to never ever drink from a straw - your NUT might be different - IMO its good that you no longer use straw

:D

All that air and stuff does intermingle

after 7 1./2 months i'm still burping - it doesn't bother me or DH, sometimes we get a good laugh over it

i might continue to burp forever,

oink oink what a piggy

small price for losing weight with my partner the sleeve

good luck

Yes the blender makes sense. Maybe I'll stir afterwards to loosen up some of the bubbles. Good call. And if I gotta burp then fine but this morning after my Protein Shake it just seemed excessive. Thanks guys :D

I've started mixing my meals in advance and letting the bubbles settle out. Once the Protein Powder is mixed in, it won't come back out, and just a stir or a swirl in the cup is all it needs.

I rarely burp but I hiccup. I have heard that those who do burp a lot either are drinking too fast or through straws.

I am 4 months post op and I still burp all the time. Mostly after I eat or drink. I think I have gotten use to it because sometimes I forget im in public and just let it out. Lol. Oh well, better out than in.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
