I'm stalled AGAIN. I hit 25 lbs down on July 29th' date=' and then gained a pound, stayed there for many days, and lost it again, so basically I haven't lost any weight since July 29th. And my surgery was just on July 11th. I am getting about 500-750 calories a day AND working out 4x a week. I am not getting all my Water in, but I should still be losing. This is so frusterating. No wonder I quit at so many diets before the surgery, hit a stall, and feel hopeless, then give up. Glad I can't give up now![/quote']

How's it going now? Hopefully you've been seeing progress since this last post! I'm almost 4 weeks out and have been in a stall for 8 or 9 days now...totally depressing. I'd love to hear how you're doing now!

I'm 3 weeks out, lost 25 lbs (including pre-op diet) and I'm stalled for over a week now. Has anyone else had a stall this early?

I lost 18 lbs in the first 10 days, then only 2 lbs in the next 10. QUITE a let down, to say the least.

Of course I loved the first weeks rate of loss, but now I feel stuck... and disappointed.

I already exercise an hour a day, I really can't eat much, and I have NO IDEA why the weight is not dropping fast (like it should be, according to math!).

I got on the scale this morning and again...nothing. I'm afraid it threw me over the edge a bit as it's been two weeks since I've seen any weight OR inches come off (I'm almost three weeks post op). So basically, nothing since the liquids only starvation week and it was only 5 lbs then. I've been a bit of a basket case all day. It's so frustrating and I feel like I'm going to fail at this too.

As you've already learned by now, it's to be expected - and it probably won't be the only stall you have.

My "3 week stall" kicked in at 3 weeks on the dot, and lasted the better part of 3 months. I think I was stalled 12 going on 13 weeks before anything budged.

I had been stalled at 3 weeks, drank a milkshake (!) to up my calories in case I was in starvation mode - it worked and I dropped 2 lbs. Just got back from vacation where it was impossible to eat healthy and was happy to have lost another .5 lbs instead of gaining. Stuck here for a couple of days, but that's fine - still adding new foods as my stomach heals (5 weeks out now), so I expect things to go a bit slower. I can't imagine not being able to lose weight when I'm taking in 500 calories a day - I think it's virtually impossible not to.

After 2 weeks, I broke my stall, and I've come down another 6 pounds in the last two weeks.

I am almost 1 month out, I lost 20 lbs in my first 2 weeks after surgery and have stalled ever since....actually gained a couple of pounds and I know I am not eating anything that should make me gain!! I still have severe pain on my left side, so I have't really started exercising yet, mainly working around the house as much as I can and thank goodness I am extra efficent at picking up things with my feet, b/c bending or even leaning in any way is not an option. The Dr said the pain should be gone or almost gone w/in a few weeks, so hopefully I can get moving once it calms down.

It's nice to see I'm not crazy. I'm 3 weeks out today and I've been stalled for about 5 days. I lost 16 pounds and then nada. I keep reading it'll pass so I'll jusy keep doing what I've been doing and wait.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
