I went through everything in my closet 2 weeks ago, and filled up 4 kitchen garbage bags with clothes to donate!! I'm down to 3 pairs of jeans (that are now too baggy to be comfortable, but they have an elastic waist, so they don't fall off LOL), and about 7 blouses (that really could go into another garbage bag, but a girl has to have SOMETHING to wear!). All of my gym pants are falling off...even with an elastic waist. Time to invest in some big safety pins!! :)

Go to Goodwill and get yourself some new or practically new clothes. No reason to be swimming in your clothes. People give away things - sometimes with the tags still on. Ebay is another cheap way to get clothes.

I was in a size 14 for only two weeks. I just went and found a bunch of size 12s. Now I'm almost out of them. The only thing I really HAVE to buy new is underwear obviously.

I go to goodwill weekly. I can't stand for my clothes to be super baggy. My stepmom had gastric bypass and told me to let my baggy clothes be my badge of honor, no need to buy new clothes. I told her my badge was buying clothes that were smaller. I got a ton of clothes for 50 bucks.

I had a pair of smaller pants that I couldn't get past my knees. Yes, my knees. I held onto those suckers for so long. After surgery I had tried them again and I got them up over my booty, so I said soon, soon you adorable pants. I tried them on 2 days ago, because I was depressed it was over a week with no weight loss and they fall off me.

I now have a skirt that I couldn't wrap around ONE thigh (my thigh was bigger than my entire stomach). I got the skirt wrapped around my entire stomach now, though it's suppose to double wrap lol. I'm getting closer to it. These things are the important things to check for, especially when you are in a stall.

This week, at my stall is when everyone is pointing out my weight loss to me, though they see me all the time, hey, look at that bone, wow you are crossing your legs (I did it first time yesterday, I never try to cross them, because I haven't done that since 1999 lol)

I love things like this!

CONGRATS and good for you all.

To comfortably cross my legs, without a numbing feeling, is a goal! Like you, I hit a stall. I tried on an old pair of TIGHT jeans, and THEY FIT! We are losing inches as well as weight, so don't get to discouraged about the numbers on the scale (who am I kidding? Sadly, I am a slave to my scale!).

I like this tread. I am waiting for a day when i can tell the same story. but now I am still in my 22w-24w pants ( depend on the brand) and have whole bag of nice clothes from size 16-20 from my previous diet victories. I doubt that I would go below 12 but even 12 so far look a miracle to me.

I think I am the only person who doesn't have a cache of smaller-sized clothing...I have been this size for approx. 25 years, and I am now 52! Oh, I have a few items that are a size or two smaller, but nothing for "down the road. Oh, well...happy shopping!

I only kept a few things from the early to mid 90's. The pants that are too big are from when I hit 200 a few times before, between my 200-300 phase.

I did keep some mini skirts and a bikini because I loved them so much and those I hope I will be able to wear next summer. The ball gown I have I am hoping to get into by Xmas, I'm going to have it cut down for New Years Eve. A suit of mine is too big. My wedding dress is now too big, which makes me happy :)

I don't really have much of a stash. Maybe only a size down or so. Although pre-surgery, I did buy a few shirts in smaller sizes because they were on clearance and I had a few good coupons. I like shopping online at Woman Within. You can google coupon codes (or they email some to you). One good deal I got was a zippered microfleece jacket that I will take to work with me... only $3.24 - on clearance, a good coupon, plus an earnings certificate. (You earn a small percentage based on what you buy and can spend that back at the store.)

I have clothes down to size 8. I have a bunch of medium and small tops too. I swear that some are 30 years old. I have a pair of trunks from Hawaii that my dad wore in 1957. Pack-rat am I. I wear plain kick-around, not trendy clothes so they never really go out of style.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
