swmorris 0 Posted August 4, 2012 Hi everyone. I went to my first dr appmt yesterday. I had my psych visit beforehand and have medical clearance. I am having a scope done Aug 21 and will set a surgery date afterwards. I am so excited and hate that I have to do the scope first. It isn't mandatory but I do have heartburn and some reflux so I thought it would be a good idea. I'm nervous about the prep diet. It sounds terrible! Any suggestions on how to get through it? notime 340 Posted August 4, 2012 Yes. Don't obsess about it. It is not terrible. It is not a big deal and is necessary for you to get to the goal: a healthier you. The same is true of the post-op diet. Many people gripe and complain about it, but it isn't anything really and is only for a short time in a whole lifetime. Think about the new you and wean yourself from habits that will need to be changed once sleeved, for example, gradually stop drinking coffee and soft drinks and purge your house of foods you won't/shouldn't eat once sleeved. That will make your transition easier.
