cscake 8 Posted August 3, 2012 I am six months out and two days ago started having some discomfort in my left upper quadrant, right under my ribs. Felt a litttle like side stitches when you run. Then today I leaned over and it hurt and felt like something rolled. Could it be gas or adhesions? I have had other surgery so they are a possibility. Dr Office said I was too far out for it to be from my surgery. Any ideas?
Dooter 1,457 Posted August 3, 2012 I've always experienced a sharp pain in that same location since surgery, and sometimes I feel like what you said "something rolls." it's like a little trapped gas bubble, because after the roll, i burp a little then I feel better. Sometimes it takes a few days to get it out. it's really weird. I don't know if that is what you are having, but it's possible.
MKinVA 20 Posted August 4, 2012 It is trapped gas. Try moving around. Sometimes burping helps.
Mimismom 49 Posted August 4, 2012 Can you get trapped gas in your lower right back area too? Sometimes after I eat (especially now since I'm on soft foods) I hiccup a lot then my lower right side hurts and I think it could be gas. I just need reassurance it's not a kidney infection. Do you still have your gallbladder? Lower right sounds like gallbladder, and the pain tends to permeate upwards, around, and to the back.
