I went to PV today but was unable to get the de-fill :think . I{ll be OK I just drink and I am fine (for some reason not alcohol:phanvan ) I bought some Protein Powder. Hope its good.

Getting to the clinic will be a little more difficult than I thought. I have a 10cc band and I have 8.5cc's My last fill they gave me 1.5 cc's

I know you will understand (i hope) my mentality when I say that I kinda don't want to get an un-fill cause I will be able to eat. It is so screwed up, the things that go through my head. "isn't this my ultimate dream--to NOT be ABLE to eat" I had always wished for it. Now I can barely eat and I am a little afraid of less restriction.. I think "if I could i'd being eating this and this and that, so its a good thing I can't at all"

Anyway I feel fine. I make sure that if my pee is too stinky or little I drink more.

oh my goodness... what!? Why couldn't you get a defill?

I totally know what you mean. When I could barely eat, I wanted so badly to just go back to where I was before the fill, but I was also so scared that I would be able to eat too much again... it's stupid. Really... is there such a hurry? Get even .5cc taken out... I bet you'll get SO much relief with that. I wish I could have when I was going through what you are.

Why couldn't you get a little defill? Seriously Lila, you can't live like this... its been too long, and it's not letting up... you need some taken out. You don't want to risk losing your band for this, do you? It'd be much worse to have to have your band removed, wait at least 6 months to be rebanded, and then only if you could afford it a second time! What is worse, that, or taking a bit longer to lose the weight you have to?

And you better get LOTS of Water in (at least 64 oz/2 litres) and yes, those Protein shakes!

:) tough love

*hands on hips with stern look on face*

Lila????? I HOPE the reason you "couldn't" get a defill was not YOUR choice but something else???!!! Ahem.....although I fear it was the latter!

Mandi is completely right....this isn't the way the band is supposed to work, my friend....but you know that (right?) so I won't keep babblin' about it!

Think things through...... .5 cc could be the entire difference!

Tough love indeed!!

:rolleyes Take care.

I have heard that if you don't eat enough you will be working against the band. The body will go into starvation mode if it doesn't get enough calories and then you still won't lose weight. This is not a good or healthy state to be in, kiddo.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
