Errrr, I have hit the infamous 3 week stall. It seems way to early to experience this, it is so discouraging. In the back of my mind I am thinking I will be the only one in the world that this won't work for. I am following my diet so I guess I will try to kick up the exercise a bit. Any other suggestions?

I just finished my 3 week stall finally. I had the same feelings as you- I'm not going to be successful at this. On the 14th day of the stall I lost a pound, and then another pound the next day. I'm not sure there is anything you can do but stick to your plan. It's discouraging, but we have to keep in mind that there are people who have lost more than 100 pounds in a year who had a 3 week stall just like us. :)

I stalled at 10 days! I'm now at 2 weeks and haven't lost an ounce in about four or five days! I'm trying to increase my Protein and Water but its discouraging. How long can we anticipate stalls lasting?

Hi all,

Your respective stalls will break. I think we all go through that as our bodies adjust to the changes which have been made to it. Keep drinking your liquids, getting in your Proteins and the scale will start to move again.

I also was one who read about all the successes and thought the surgery would work for everyone but me. However, I am 7 months out and 95lbs lighter and still losing. Good luck to you all and keep your heads up and stay encouraged.

My week 3 stall lasted about a month. No kidding! I even gained a little. I have lost 45 pounds since 6/25, start of pre-op diet. Hang in there!

I just recently broke out of a stall that lasted almost 2 weeks. I found myself wondering if when people spoke of the 3 week stall if they meant that I was going to be stalled for 3 weeks. Ugh! Being stalled is so frustrating. But hang in there, the scale will move again! Just keep rockin that sleeve! :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
