Thought I Might Have Been One Of The Lucky Ones

Recommended Posts

I really thought I was one of the lucky ones that wasn't going to lose hair. No problems at all until today! I am six months post op tomorrow and huge clumps of hair came out today! Now I know what everyone is talking about! Lol! Of course now I am concerned that since it started a bit later than most people mention... Will I be having it come out for the next six months? Oh well I will just deal with it since I have pretty thick hair and adjust my hairstyle accordingly

Yeah, that was me, too. Thought I dodged a bullet until ...

Thinned out pretty good, too, but it lasted about 3 months. I'm back to full, thick hair again.

Just a little bump along the way. All good

both of your attitudes about hairloss is very 'refreshing'. I am extremely worried about the hairloss. I will just have to remind myself that I can get through it.

Exactly. It is a minor bump along the road and is not permanent. Just keep remembering that.

I am 4 months out and so far have dodged the bullet, but know it is coming I guess. Bring it on so I can get it over with. I think the anticipation is worse than the acutal Hair loss

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
