Randi 0 Posted September 9, 2006 I could have sworn my surgeon said she does the first fill 4 weeks after surgery, but I don't recall reading any posts where fills were done that early. I recall mostly reading the first fill was done 6 weeks after surgery or later. Are there any LBTers whose surgeon did their first fill at 4 weeks post-op? If so, was there any rationale given for the earlier fill schedule?
libra 13 Posted September 9, 2006 I had my surgery on 8-15 and my first fill was on 9-1. I guess my surgeon is really aggressive.
Tired_Old_Man 1 Posted September 9, 2006 6 weeks, I think.
lianna 3 Posted September 9, 2006 Mine was at 5 weeks. I think the Inamed booklet states that the first fill should be done at 4-6 weeks, so it is primarily up to your doctor....most prefer to wait 6 weeks.
Carlene 12 Posted September 9, 2006 Four weeks, and believe me, I was ready.
*susan* 1,709 Posted September 9, 2006 My surgeon will do them starting at 4 weeks out. I didn't actually have my first one until about 7 weeks due to my schedule at work was so busy during that time that I couldn't take an hour to go to the doctor. But, if I hadn't of been so busy, I would have definitely gone at 4.
Elisabethsew 50 Posted September 9, 2006 Mine would not do a first fill until 8 weeks post-op.
mousecrazy 2 Posted September 9, 2006 4 weeks for me, but it was very, very small (and I was fine with that!)
Magic 0 Posted September 9, 2006 My first fill was 4 months later... It all depends on how much weight you are losing. If you are losing weight, then no need for a fill, if not, then you should get one..
mcw12985 0 Posted September 9, 2006 I had my surgery on the 5th, and I'm scheduled to go back on the 20th. I don't know if he'll do a fill then, his assistant said maybe, maybe not.
JulieNYC 4 Posted September 10, 2006 My doc requires you to wait 6 weeks. I had mine in week 7 due to scheduling issues.
