Any Preparation For First Fill?

Recommended Posts

I have my first fill on Monday morning at 9:15. I have received no instructions from Dr. Spivak as to how to prepare for the fill. Can I eat after midnight? Can I have Breakfast that morning? If I cannot have solids then can I have any liquids that morning? Help!

I was told just liquids on a fill day - and two days after. But I don't recall any instructions such as nothing for a specific time before the fill. All our band doc's have their own approach. That's fine with me, I'm not complaining.

I was more worried about the "stick" itself. It was really painless in my experience. But Good Grief! that needle looked huge!!! I thought I was gonna be a human shish-kebob or a pig on a spit! lol Oh, silly me, I've had mosquito bites that hurt more.

Terry ;)

I also have never been given any food restrictions prior to the fill. Only afterwards. I am on liquids for 24 hours, them mushies 24 hours and then back to normal.

Fills are not bad at all. In fact, I find it kind of amusing when the doc has you sit up and you still have this needle poking out of your tummy. But, they really don't hurt at all.

Good luck.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
