I am so emotional and so nervous. I'm actually starting to second guess myself and getting doubtful. I feel like my insides are knotted so tight that I can't think straight. I didn't do as well as I would have liked on my liquid diet but I couldn't tolerate the Protein Shakes, I kept saying I have time and now it's tomorrow. Oh my gosh, I always dreamed of being thin and healthy and now that time has come. God bless to all those with upcoming surges. May you all have Godspeed in your recovery!

Here's to seeing less of of you and Me!! <3

My surgery is tomorrow too! I have the same emotions going on too! I'm sure it just nerves and anxiety of the unknown. We will both do just fine and we will have good stories to exchange once we get tomorrow behind us. Keep in touch I would like to hear how your surgery went!

Well....today was my surgery that did NOT happen! My husband and I made it to the hospital when BAM, my nerves got the best of me and I started to cough uncontrollably. I knew I had bronchitis but we thought it would be resolved by the time I had surgery. I think my nerves and the bronchitis together caused me to cough so much the anesthesiologist felt I was not ready for the surgery and decided to postpone. I'm ok with this and I firmly believe things happen for a reason. If this surgery is meant to be, it will. I'm meeting with my regular doctor to check on my bronchitis and then get cleared again for surgery next week. So the saga continues!

I am so sorry to hear this. It is very important that you are as healthy as you can be when you go into surgery like this. This is really for the best and I really like your attitude about the whole situation. A week isn't too long to have to wait. Please keep up posted on your progress.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
