Recommended Posts

Having a hard time getting in the Protein Shakes, and the Water. Just ordered liquid Calcium, have been checking out Liquid Protein online. Just wondering if there were any 'experts' on the subject. Thanks.

When I struggle to get Protein in, I choke down a half a tube of these. They sell them at Wal Mart.

I only do 1/2 cuz your body can not process more than 30 Protein at a time. Any extra I passed out of the body.

They are sour, but small so it's easier to get down. Watch the other brands cuz they can have less protein & you will have to drink the whole shot to get the same content as 1/2 a New whey.

I am curious to see the answers to this. I'm not particularly fond of Protein Shakes. I know there was one type of liquid Protein that my NUT said was good. I will have to look into it. I think it was fuse or something? It was one of those shot things that looks like the five hour energy drinks. It was a collagen protein and she said it's fine to use as long as it's not your only protein, you wanna alternate it with other types.

Choke down is right!!! Lol!!! I bought a 6 pack of the watermelon and they are just horrendous. I threw the first one away after 2 sips.

I use Syntrax nectar whey Protein powder and Jay Robb's Egg White Protein Powder. It took almost the entire 12 oz bag but I'm starting to really love the Jay Robb one. Syntrax Nectar unflavored has been awesome because I can mix it with Soups... Really with anything. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
