Five months post op on June 7th. 97 lbs gone since Jan 1 pre op. I am struggling with carb snacking and with exercise motivation. I tore an ankle ligament and had to slack off exercising about two weeks ago and now i am struggling to get back at it. I still have 80 lbs to go and i am getting to that point where I am comfortable and usually would stop exercising dieting etc and do what i thought was "normal". It off course would result in a gain of everything i lost back plus some.

This time I hope it does not happen. I am afraid it will. So I'm processing and thinking and trying to motivate myself for the next 80 lbs. thanks to everyone sharing experiences, i know i can do this for the long haul.

You are doing an awesome job! I feel you when you said it's around the time when you say "I'm doing good now I can have ..." I also have about 80+ pounds to go and family has been very encouraging and supportive but I realize the real commitment is now. This is that moment when I make the excuses to not do the things that I have do e to get to this point of success.

It feels good to look good...I feel better than I have in a long time. It is great to see my clothes too big and my body moving without great pain. Trying new hairdos and make up. It feels good to see my husband work on his health because "he has to keep up with me";-) these are the things you/we have to tap into on this seventh ending stretch...you are doing great because you are acknowledging your tendency and saying you must change and that behavior has to be addressed...YOU GO GURL....yay for YOU;-D

Wow, look how beautiful n sassy you look in that pic!! Tell me, y r u not motivated w such wonderful results u seem to have gotten thus far?!? You get ur skinny behind bck up on that horse and finish towards ur goal n this journey! Yes, I'm scolding you lovingly;) it won't happen over night but don't let ur joy of what uve done so far be taken bc of a little lack of motivation. We r here for u, but gotta b here for the new you as well, and let the old yous thots fall by the wayside. If you can't exercise much, esp w ankle issues, then do some upper body work just to get ur heart rate up, look for simple things to do, doesn't have to b a marathon or zumba...yet, lol. You can n will do this, like u Saud, the old u eud quit now, but the new u has been equipped Evan amazing tool that won't allow u to go bck to ur old ways, but u got to trust in it. Luk what else we can do!! I'm not sleeved yet or have a date anytime soon but I want to see all who have been, to be successful bc it motivates me to be successful if ever I get my tool. So keep building, we this is a process, not a race:). Dee Dee

Plastic surgery. I lost the weight but the plastic surgery fixed the skin.

And...

I have worked out like crazy through the entire process. My new goal is to gain weight - in muscle!

Plan to follow in your footsteps! Great Work!

We have very similar stats, my starting BMi is 41 and I am only 5'0. You seem like you are a pretty fast loser, well definitely not a slow loser, I'm afraid I will be because 40 isn't a super high BMI (I know it isn't low either though) Can I ask what type of diet/ foods you mostly eat and what type of exercise you do?

I am a moderate as far as my food approach I do not do well on extreme low carb I tend to keep mine around 100 ish otherwise I am a cranky mess but most of my carbs come from fruits and veg.I will occasionally indulge in a treat. I am a bit of a slow loser compared to others but I am not willing to sacrifice my fruit or occasional treats to speed up my loss. I kept my cals under 800 for the first 4 months or so but now I keep them around 1000-1200 and my loss rate is about 6-8 lbs a month now.I also exercise moderately about 30 mins a day on my Elliptical or just walking along with sit ups and push ups and using light hand weights.I plan to do more exercise wise but I haven't gotten around to bumping it up yet:)

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
