SkinnyMinnie2Be 255 Posted July 31, 2012 I go to a registered massage therapist once a week. It's paid through my benefits at work..so why not? I'm a nurse and my profession puts a toll on my body. My main focus is my back shoulders and neck. I'm just wondering if anyone else gets massages and how soon after their operation were they able to lay on their tummy and get them? BentleyJade 28 Posted July 31, 2012 I have been seriously thinking about starting to get massages! I'm always tense and I feel like it would help with overall stress on the body.
Kabooboo 4 Posted July 31, 2012 I get a massage every other week. I went for a massage 3 weeks after my surgery. I could maybe have gone earlier, but waited until I was positive I would be comfortable. I felt so good after it!
desert19 93 Posted July 31, 2012 I get massages monthly, and was able to lay down on my stomach at 3 weeks. My massage therapist has been really supportive. I haven't told a lot of people about my surgery, but decided I better come clean with her, as she is seeing me without most of my clothes!
Izuri 428 Posted July 31, 2012 You get massages once a week through you benefits? I'm am jealoussssss! That sounds awesome. I'm going to look into this. How much do you pay each week?

I'm in Canada and have sunlife extended health cars benefits. Up to the first $1,000 are covered 80%..after that 100%. Example: my total for an hour massage is $89. I pay the girl then put in an online claim. Within 24 hours $71 is put back into my account....so I only end up paying $20 or So out of pocket. Once I have reached $1,000 of massage claims, each one of my massages will be covered 100%

Unfortunately my occupation doesn't allow for me to schedule mine with any regularity, but when it happens, it's pure bliss. I feel so much more free & lighter. I feel fortunate in that my massage therapist also has a sleeve, and has been an invaluable source of information! She's quite the inspiration too. She was sleeved last September, has lost over 100 pounds and runs marathons!
