Well, Tuesday will be 2 weeks post op for me, so I'm still on liquids..well..I ate a bite of chicken (a bit too soon) it was grilled chicken from KFC and it was pretty small..but it got stuck! :( it hurt so bad and I threw up a little, but it still feels like its there. I didn't drink anything, because I wanted it to come up but I just sipped Water and it still feels like its there. I don't know what to do..I feel so sick and my stomach hurts! I know a lot of us mess up, but I feel like a true fatty for this! Chicken tempted me and I gave in!

This might be a good time to call your surgeon's office. They have a doctor on call that can help you. You are not the only one that gets tempted. So don't be embarrassed. It's a learning lesson. Ask you doc if you can drink some Water 30 minute after. :)

being barely two weeks out and taking a bite of chicken is so risky. and your experiencing symptoms of a problem. I would call but of course its your body.

good luck!

Drink some pineapple juice or some canned pineapple. It will help it slide through and digest.

I wouldn't do that- that's too much sugar and will make that new tummy wrench around!

Pineapple is a tenderizer (that's why we put it on ham) and it may help break down the chicken. This advice was given to me by my NUT. She said if you're having trouble with meat to eat a small piece of pineapple or drink pineapple juice. I would cut the juice with Water though. Also she told us to carry a little baggie of Adolph's meat tenderizer, mix with Water and drink if meat ever felt stuck.

Thanks for the responses, y'all! I went to the dr this morning and told him and he asked "did you throw up?" I said "as much as I could" he said it was fine and to take it slower than that and he told me to start my soft/mushies diet today (13 days out) :) so I'm good. I feel great today, down 19.2 pounds! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
