notime 340 Posted July 30, 2012 A lot of people post that they are having a rough pre- and/or post-op diet period. I am at a loss. I wasn't crazy about having to do them, but didn't think it was hard or particulary bothersome. Am I the only one who felt fine about it?
Robyn Owens-Miille 132 Posted July 30, 2012 I think it just depends on the person and their relationship with food.< /p>

NurseJenn 44 Posted July 30, 2012 A lot of people post that they are having a rough pre- and/or post-op diet period. I am at a loss. I wasn't crazy about having to do them' date=' but didn't think it was hard or particulary bothersome. Am I the only one who felt fine about it?[/quote'] I only had 1 day of liquids pre-op. I had no issue. My post-op I really have no issues with the diet. I think part of it is that I've been working on my eating disorder for the last 4 years. I think the other part is that I went onto full liquids on day 3 so I've been throwing Protein Powder into everything. After my 1 week follow up he advanced me to purée/soft diet as tolerated. I keep up with my Protein and I get little bits to eat. I feel great.
Robyn Owens-Miille 132 Posted July 30, 2012 I think it's both, emotional and physical. I had over-eaten for so long that my body really was used to eating frequently and in big portions. In addition, I will admit to being a food addict and so even once I got past the physical hunger on pre-op day 4 or so, I still had the emotional "need" to eat. notime 340 Posted July 31, 2012 Thank you for your responses. I think I was so, so anxious to have the weight loss that I had totally committed to the diet changes it required well before the preparation for surgery.
