At three weeks I started puree. Call your NUT in the morning and ask her to clarify your phases. Good luck!

3 weeks out I will be on puree foods, but call your NUT, they should be giving you more clear instructions. Better safe than sorry.

At 3 weeks I was on a soft diet. I could do sugar free Jello (mix it with non-fat greek yogurt to get more Protein out of it), yogurt with very soft fruit (no skins or big chunks), soups- again, no big chunks, very soft "meat salads" such as tuna salad or chicken salad. cottage cheese, boiled eggs, soft scrambled eggs, etc.

Check with your doctor though... many go slower than mine did with food progression.

That's one big problem. They didn't give me a NUT. Not sure why not.

The papers say anything from oatmeal, to Soup and crackers?? Like one cracker drowning in soup? Thin watery oatmeal? I just don't want to screw up.

At three weeks out, you should probably focus on very soft foods; if you're going to have oatmeal, yes, I'd make it watery. I'd also omit the cracker from the soup, as the refined flour can be difficult for your stomach to process. Yougurt, cottage cheese, soft salads and finely ground meats should be ok, but keep your portion sizes to about 3-6 tablespoons of solid foods or 4-6 ounces of liquid (like fat free milk) at each meal. I would also focus on Proteins at this point, as it's the most important element for helping the healing process. Adequate Protein intake will help keep you from losing the lean muscle mass you have, while stimulating the burning of fat (like the Atkins diet). You could also eat things like scrambled eggs, tofu, or refried Beans for extra Protein. Hope that helps, but the best advice would be to contact your surgeon and get advice from them - they know you the best!

This search on Google can help: tofu recipes ("low fat" OR "low calorie" OR healthful)

Also, you can puree tofu in the blender along with some splenda or equal + Water or milk + fruit or Protein powder - even green leafy vegetables, such as spinach!. Puree it on the highest speed (I have a VitaMix). Add a few ice cubes and puree them as well. You have a smoothee. You essentially turntofu into a liquid. This pureeing technique works with firm, medium, soft and silken textures of tofu. I do find that different brands of tofu have different flavors. My own personal favorite brand is Mori Nu. You can order cases of Mori Nu online. But other people might find other brands to be better. Tofu always has helped me lose weight in the past. I hope that this information is helpful.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
